The trailer for new crime drama, Sexy Beast, has just been released by Paramount+. And it looks pretty epic.
So what’s it all about? Well, the series tells the origin story of Gary “Gal” Dove and his journey into London’s criminal underworld in the 1990s.
The new series of Sexy Beast dives into the messy relationship between Gal and Don - his old mate, future crime boss and, well, honestly kind of a sociopath. From small-time thieves, the duo soon find themselves caught up in the exciting yet terrifying world of crime in London in the '90s. But Gal's budding romance with DeeDee threatens to derail the whole thing.

Any fans of the iconic Sexy Beast movie, released in 2000, will remember its unique mix of thriller and comedy, blending full-on gory scenes with proper funny moments. Starring the man, the myth, the total ledge that is Ray Winstone as Gal, his iconic performance helped to make Sexy Beast into the cult classic it is today.
The movie kicks off with Gal living a peaceful life in Spain. But here's a fun nugget: to nail the look of a retired gangster, Ray Winstone actually jetted off to Spain two weeks before filming to get that deep tan and "bulk up" by eating as much as possible. Absolute job prep goals.
James McCardle, who steps into Gal's shoes for the new series, probably wasn't as lucky, given the whole story unfolds in London. Get this, though, despite the series being set in the capital, the filming actually took place around Liverpool. So, all you Scousers out there, keep your eyes peeled for some familiar spots.
Also starring Emun Elliott as Don Logan, and Sarah Greene as DeeDee, alongside other huge names like Tamsin Greig and Stephen Moyer, the series is set to premiere globally on January 25. And quite honestly, it looks set to be a binge-lover’s dream.
Sexy Beast joins the growing list of UK originals on Paramount+, alongside other highly-anticipated series like The Flatshare, No Escape, and The Burning Girls. To get access to all these titles and more, Paramount+ offers a subscription at £6.99 per month, and new subscribers get 7 days free.
