Jeremy Clarkson has issued a scathing response to the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire social media team after being labelled 'not much help' for a question audiences deemed to be pretty easy.
Back on ITV1 and ITVX last night (23 March), the latest episode of Millionaire brought us more ordinary folk looking to win a top prize of £1 million - a classic format that has been reproduced in countries all around the world since its first arrival on our TV in 1998 with presenter Chris Tarrant.
In the latest episode, with Clarkson replacing Tarrant in the presenting seat since the show's return in 2018, contestant Matthew Trantor managed to get through a number of questions in quick succession.

He was then stumbling a bit on the next, with had the Clarkson's Farm man asking Trantor: "Dijon is the capital of which historic French region?"

It was the £64,000 question, so it's not going to be straightforward at this stage.
As always, there were four possible answers given. Normandy, Brittany, Limousin and Burgundy.
"I don't know the answer to this," Trantor simply said to Jezza.

It saw the contestant ask Clarkson for his help on the conundrum, with Trantor saying: "I have a Phone A Friend that may know this but I also think you have spent quite a lot of time in France. So I'd like to ask you."
Clarkson wasn't the greatest in response, saying: "Okay, so here's what I think, my fastest ever speeding ticket I got in Dijon. I was going so fast that I can't remember where it is."

But he did say it was '100 percent not in Normandy or Brittany', saying that he knows those regions 'very well'.
Over on social media, Clarkson wasn't happy with the response to the question from the team running the show's online accounts.

"Despite getting a speeding ticket in Dijon, Jeremy Clarkson wasn’t much help on this question, so over to 'Phone A Friend'," the official WWTBAM account over on X (formerly Twitter) posted.
Clarkson wasn't having any of it, though.
Responding, the former Top Gear presenter wrote: "What do you mean I wasn’t much help?!?!?!!!"

Clear to see that it touched a nerve with the veteran television frontman, especially since he effectively made it a 50 / 50 question for Trantor.

After using his Phone A Friend, Trantor's pal Josh was no use with the Ask The Audience next up. From that, 55 percent said it was Burgundy with 40 percent opting for Limousin.
While saying £32,000 was a 'nice amount of money' he could settle for, he played the question and went all in on Burgundy.
A correct guess, thankfully for him.
He walked away with the £64k after the next question asked him 'which of these words coined by famous children's authors appeared in print first' with the four options of Snozzcumber; Heffalump; Chortled; or Quaffle. Yep, no idea either.

Over on X, people said the Dijon question was pretty easy. One wrote: "Even I got that one and no speeding ticket was required."
Another said: "I was shouting 'it's f**king Burgundy' at the TV."
And a third said: "Pretty easy that one for £64,000."
