Next time you're kicking back with a drink and some picky bits on holiday, you might want to double check the menu after one group of holidaymakers were slapped with a £690 bill.
No, that figure isn't missing a decimal place. This bill totalled 690 Great British pounds for just two drinks.
Now we've all been guilty of paying inflated prices at upmarket restaurants and tourist traps, but at £345 each you'd be expecting your drink to contain the elixir of life and come in a gold glass.

The offending restaurant is DK Oyster, in Mykonos, Greece and it's a place with quite a reputation.
Situated in the town of Platys Gialos, DK Oyster is described as an all-day entertainment venue and offers guests the opportunity to enjoy waterfront food and drinks; with pictures showing ocean-front access, stunning views and high quality food.
However one thing which would appear to be absent from their website are the prices, which a quick browse of TripAdvisor will soon reveal.

"BEWARE and avoid this place," a review from Lori E, dated to May 2024 read, before accusing the bar of charging them $876 (£690) for two drinks which were advertised at €51 (£42) each.
"Trying to dispute with our credit card company which is also a disaster because we never signed for anything or received a paper copy of a receipt," they added.
It would appear that Lori isn't the only tourist who's had this experience either, as US tourist Amber Pace claimed she and a friend were charged £450 for a meal and drinks.

"I just saw the price £17 (€20) for the fried calamari I got and my friend got the king crab legs that said £28 (€32),” she explained to The Sun in 2023, adding that she checked with their waiter about the bill ‘three times’.
Like Lori, the pair claimed they were told they could use the free beds as long as they ordered something.
Amber said they ordered a pina colada and a strawberry daiquiri. However, she claimed they weren't given a drink menu as the 'server was just naming out drinks without telling us the prices'.
The women's final bill then came to £450 for two drinks, two appetisers and a 10 percent service charge, which they later attempted to dispute with the manager.

When asked about the allegations made by Lori and the reviews left on TripAdvisor, DK Oyster manager Dimitrios Kalamaras defended the restaurant and issued the following statement to The Sun: "Our sunbeds require minimum consumption, so we encourage all visitors to check the menus before placing their orders.
"I would like to note that our menus are displayed on blackboards near the entrance, showing the prices of our food and drinks to keep our guests informed."
He continued: "In DK Oyster, we have advertised in the ways we consider suitable for our restaurant, and we will not succumb to the influencers who have been attracted to the beautiful island of Mykonos.

"We believe that the value of the offered experience is high and we have no intention to explain why we charge more than a supermarket or a traditional taverna, which can be quite wonderful but is surely a completely different concept than ours."
