The busiest airport in the North of England has given a significant update when it comes to getting rid of the 100ml liquid rule at security check.
Manchester Airport is the third busiest airport in the entire UK and head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to being the North of England's number one hub for international travel, with more than 28 million people journeying through it last year.
And now journeys for millions of people going through the airport could be about to get a lot quicker as a result of new UK rules to put an end to the 100ml liquid cap when going through security check.

The UK government has said that by the summer of 2025, all airports in the country must say goodbye to the 100ml liquid limit by introducing new state-of-the-art CT scanners at security.
These will allow up to two litres to be then taken through security, with the liquids also no longer required to be crammed in to a 20cm by 20cm clear, plastic bag.
Despite the 2025 deadline a number of UK airports have already brought in the new scanners, with passengers able to take full advantage of the quicker security queues in time for the busy summer months.

A warning has been issued to passengers in Birmingham, though, when it comes to taking full advantage.
Manchester Airport Holdings, known as MAG, runs Manchester Airport as well as the fourth largest airport in the UK, London Stansted. East Midlands Airport also falls under its control.
Speaking to LADbible, a MAG spokesperson said a 'large number' of security lanes across its airports will be upgraded for the 2024 summer season, with them in place by the end of June.

It wont be fully done this year across Manchester and the other two, but the 2025 government deadline should be hit, they said.
Manchester has also been expanded to bring in the new equipment, which is significantly larger than the old systems of checking cabin bags at security.
The MAG spokesperson said: "We continue to make good progress at all three of our airports on the introduction of new security screening equipment, as part of the UK-wide programme.
"This is a complex programme of work requiring the expansion of terminal facilities, while at the same time maintaining operations during construction."

They added: "We are currently rolling out the new technology lane-by-lane at Manchester and London Stansted airports, with several new lanes already in operation.
"Work is also under way on major construction projects at both Manchester and East Midlands airports to expand the size of the terminals to accommodate the new equipment.
"This will see the new scanners in place on a large number of our security lanes by June 2024, with the full completion of the programme expected the following year."

The UK's busiest airport, Heathrow, has also issued updated guidance on its plans, which are estimated to cost a cool £1 billion.
