A man gave up his coveted window seat for a child, but instantly paid the price for his good deed.
Whether you should swap seats to accommodate young children is one of the thorniest debates in plane etiquette.
And one poor chap who tried to do the right thing was in for a hellish flight.

Numerous people don't choose their seats on a plane, so if you're lucky enough to get the sought-after window seat without choosing it, you'd be chuffed.
But this man managed to get get his window seat, and was probably admiring the view of the runway when he sat down.
However, his morals seemingly kicked in and he let a young child, who badly wanted the seat to see out of the window, take his seat, swapping with him for the duration of the flight.

That might not be so bad right?
The passenger explained the situation on Reddit: "Gave up my window seat for this guys' kid as he looked super happy about it and didn't have the heart to say 'no'.
"I get the middle seat in the middle isle and the dad does this all flight. Just gross."

So not only did he get shoved into the punishment that is the middle seat, but he got some dirty, stinky feet making their way into his area, brushing up against him from time to time - revolting stuff.
The post has over 16,000 upvotes and over 1,500 comments, with several other social media users outraged at the situation on his behalf.
One Reddit user commented: "I hate people who do that and I hope I never will," with a throwing up emoji.

Another put: "I’ll never understand why people remove their shoes in public. Keep your nasty feet away. No one wants to see that."
But some put the blame on the man who moved seats, saying he should have been more stubborn.
A third posted: "Dude, grow a backbone. Seriously."
A different user said: "It really confuses me how you gave up the window seat for this guys kid but then sat in the middle of him and his kid. I would think if you're switching from the window you'd then take the aisle so the dad and son are sitting next to each other."
