Having an upset stomach is a nightmare no matter where you are or what you’re doing. No one wants to be rolling about with belly ache and running in and out of the loo.
But some situations can certainly make it even worse.
When you’re sitting with a bunch of strangers on a flight, sharing a few tiny little toilets that practically have an audience watching them, getting the sh*ts is the last thing you want.
And even a short little flight over to France can get your belly feeling grim – whether you’ve had a pint in the Spoons at 5.00am or not.

The long time of sitting down, the dehydration, the possible travel sickness or the cabin pressure can all make us feel a bit gassy or nauseous.
And so a flight attendant has revealed a simple drink to avoid any stomach issues while you’re on a plane. And shocker, it’s not a travel-size vodka.
A British Airways cabin crew member spoke to Ocean Florida about her tips to avoid any annoying belly problems while you’re up in the air.

She said that a ‘large cup of peppermint tea’ both before and during the flight will both ‘calm your nerves’ and ‘reduce bloating'.
And she even recommends bringing snacks that are ‘full of fibre and easier to digest’ rather than buying plane food.
"You lose your taste buds in the air so they fill the food with salt and oil to try and give it some flavour – which is extremely bloating," the flight attendant said.
"[Another] really common mistake we see many travellers make is eating a large, greasy meal (like a fry-up) just hours before getting on the plane. This can cause bloating at the best of times but will only increase your chances of discomfort once in the air."

And it’s not just a full english that she’s warning against as advises to avoid ‘anything heavy, spicy or greasy before you fly’. Well, that’s plans of a curry and chips out the window.
And Head of Communications at Wizz Air, Tamara Vallois, also reckons avoiding foods that are high in salt before flying.
She added to the Mirror: “Lots of nutritionists say ginger is amazing at settling the stomach, so a ginger shot or lemon and ginger tea could really help.

“When you land, have something tasty and healthy to eat, ideally fruit for the antioxidants and something with protein to boost your energy if you're landing with a busy day (or evening) ahead of you.”
