A flight attendant has revealed the rather awful reason you should always keep your shoes on while travelling on a plane.
Everyone has their own habits when it comes to travelling overseas. Unfortunately, some think that taking their shoes off and whacking the bare feet out is appropriate (reality check - it is not).
But doing this is a big no no, according to those who work on the planes themselves.

TikTok star Cierra Mistt, who has millions of followers on the social media platform, has explained the little pointer that you'll really want to follow once you find out.
It's not the first tip from Cierra, either, with the cabin crew member revealing her tips on how to secure those free first class upgrades when you're next jetting off.
She's even give advice on the mile high club, should you so wish to join it, saying there is a 'safest' place when it comes to carrying out the deed at 30,000 feet.

"There's some things that passengers should know that flight attendants and pilots don't talk about," Cierra says.
"Until now that is."
As well as dishing important info when it comes to keeping your shoes on, she also gives a tip when it comes to using the in-flight lavatories.
Cierra says: "Number one. When you go to a bathroom on the plane don't use the toilet paper, use the paper towels.

"It's higher quality and it wont rip or dissolve like the toilet paper will.
"Speaking of the lavatories. Number two - always wear shoes.
"Whatever you do, do not walk barefoot in to the bathroom. I can promise you that liquid on the floor is not water and you do not want to be stepping in to it.

"Not to mention that bathroom never gets cleaned unless it's bad enough that we have to close it off for the rest of the flight.
"Speaking of cleaners... they don't do a deep clean like you might think they do. Nowadays it's more a tidy up and getting the trash off of the floor."
You're basically opening yourself up to all kinds of ick if you take your shoes off, then.

Even if you weren't, according to an Airplanes Etiquette Violations Survey carried out by travel planning website the Vacationer, almost a quarter (24 percent) of fliers consider it really annoying when another passenger removes their shoes on the plane.
