A European Island with warm weather and cheap beers? I’m packing my bags ASAP.

With the dark, cold evenings having officially arrived, and payday looming, somewhere warmer than 12 degrees sounds like a treat.

With the UK winter not bringing much to give you FOMO, a last-minute deal is always a good idea this time of year.

And while high prices can be a pretty major factor to winter getaways, this Atlantic Island is the perfect-hidden gem.

Known as the ‘Pearl of the Atlantic’ this ideal location is Madeira, of course.

According to Holiday-Weather.com, Madeira has an average high temperature of 21 degrees in November, compared to an average of 10 in London.

I know where I’d rather be.

On top of all this, a pint of beer in the main city of Funchal could set you back about £2, and just £1 at Porto Moniz, which is not to be sniffed at when we're used to forking out well over £6 here.

Additionally, you can easily pick up a nice bottle of Madeira wine for less than a tenner at dinner.

But if booze isn't your thing, a bottle of Coke or Pepsi apparently costs just over a quid. Happy days.

Making your way to the destination won’t cause a major dent in your pockets either if you’re smart about it too.

A little search on Skyscanner shows return flights to the holiday hotspot from London going for a little over £100 in late November.

And once you're there, cheap beer isn’t the only thing Madeira has to offer (although it is VERY attractive), there’s plenty to get up to.

The island is known for its stunning viewpoints and cinematographic landscapes and nature.

Visit Madeira says: “There are countless viewpoints in Madeira, scattered all across the territory, like open windows onto living, picturesque paintings, almost always dominated by the presence of nature. Given the archipelago's rugged orographic outline, there are multiple panoramic views in countless nooks.”

For water lovers out there, there are of course plenty of golden, sandy beaches to enjoy even if it isn’t scorching hot, as well as golf clubs and city fun to explore.

Sun, sea, sand, and an array of activities - what more is there to think about?

Grab your passport and don't look back.
