TikTok star Candice Murley has died ‘unexpectedly’ at the age of 36. Fans are now donating to a Go Fund Me page which was set up by her sister to help cover funeral costs.
Candice Murley - known as Candi online - is a mother, who was known for sharing videos of her dancing and cooking on her two TikTok accounts, which had a collective following of more than 37,000.
The cause of her death is unknown at this time. Candice’s sister, Marsha McEvoy, wrote on the Go Fund Me page that her passing had come as a “massive shock” to the family.
“We have received some news no one wants to hear, tonight we lost a huge part of our family, my sister Candice,” she said. “This was very unexpected, and our hearts are torn apart.”
“Candice was so full of life and always lived life her own way,” Marsha wrote, remembering her sister. “She was full of energy and loved to dance & listen to her music; can't forget about her Bingo, oh how she loved her Bingo.
“But more than anything in his world she loved her Son & her family dearly.”
Candice’s last TikTok video was of her doing a lip sync to the words: “I hate it when the voices in my head go silent, because then I don’t know what those f*****s are upto.”
Tributes to the TikToker have been pouring in on the Go Fund Me page and across social media.
One donor wrote, “Although I never met Candice, I know she was a carefree soul who enjoyed dancing and she loved her precious stash [her ‘cat stash’ on TikTok]. My condolences to her family. May she Rest In Peace. Take care and stay safe.”
“I absolutely loved Candice Murley's free spirit and she always made me smile, loyal follower on Tiktok, God rest your soul Candice you are very much loved and missed,” said another.
“I did not personally know Candice. But, she became part of my daily life. I loved seeing her bright light on Tik Tok every day. She was real. She was fun. She was beautiful on the inside and out,” said another.
At the time of this article’s publication, more than $17,000 (£12,500) has been raised on the Go Fund Me page. The money will help cover the funeral costs and Candice’s headstone and anything left over is being put into a trust for Candice’s son, Marsha said.
