A photo showing Johnny Depp’s partially severed finger has been shown in court during his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.
Jurors at the Virginia trial were shown the graphic images of Depp's finger, while the actor testified in court today, 20 April.
Depp told the court: “I was looking at my bones sticking out."

Depp claims his finger was sliced after Heard threw two vodka bottles at him while they were in Australia in 2015.
Speaking about the aftermath of the incident, Depp said: "I don’t know what a nervous breakdown feels like, but that’s probably the closest that I’ve ever been."
Heard denies that she threw a vodka bottle at Depp, with her lawyers telling the court that Depp told emergency room staff that he had cut himself with a knife.

Yesterday, Depp’s private doctor Dr David Kipper said during a pre-recorded deposition, that he had received a text from the actor that read: “I cut the top of my middle finger off… What should I do!?? Except, of course, go to a hospital…. I’m so embarrassed for jumping into anything with her… F**K THE WORLD!!! JD.”
Kipper said he went over to the house where the incident happened, and had cleaned the wound before taking Depp to hospital.
Kipper also said he instructed staff to search for the missing fingertip, which was later found in the kitchen.
Depp’s former private nurse Debbie Lloyd also testified and told the court she had joined in the hunt for the severed fingertip.

She said: “I remember looking for his finger in the downstairs area. The house was a mess.”
Lloyd also said she’d heard ‘different stories from people’ about how Depp came to be injured.
“I have heard that Amber threw a bottle of vodka at him,” she said. “I have heard that he had slammed it with a phone.”

Depp is currently suing his ex-wife in a $50 million (£38.2 million) defamation lawsuit over domestic abuse claims she made in an article in The Washington Post.
Depp’s case is centred on a 2018 article she wrote in The Washington Post in which she discussed her experiences of domestic abuse. Though the article didn't name him, Depp’s lawyers say the article falsely implies Heard was physically and sexually abused by him when they were married.
