A Ukrainian soldier can thank his smartphone for saving his life.
Footage has been posted on social media showing the fighter pull out his device that has a decent-sized bullet lodged directly inside it.
Based on the Reddit post, it's believed the bullet that was shot was a 7.62x39mm, which is commonly used in Russian SKS, AK-47 and AK-15 pattern rifles, as well as RPD and RPK light machine guns.

It's unclear what phone the bloke was carrying, but there's no doubt that it helped him avoid some serious injury while on the warfront.
Some people joked that it would have to have been a Nokia 3310 that managed to stop the bullet because those bad boys are practically indestructible.
One user wrote: "They should line their tanks with Nokia phones, probably wouldn’t lose a single tank. Would likely triple the weight of the tank though."
Another added: "If it’d been a Nokia it’d still work."

However, while many were joking around, another person in the comment thread pointed out how significant that bullet is in the reality of warfare.
They said: "It's a wild thing to think that the gunshot heard in this video could have meant the end of a person's existence with the pain of loss that extends to everyone they know.
"If you take a giant step back from everything we know and accept as 'just the way thing are' it feels crazy that in the millions of years of human evolution, this happens to be the system of interaction and conflict resolution that we've landed upon."

It doesn't seem like the war between Russia and Ukraine will be over any time soon and President Zelenskyy conceded he's not willing to give up territory to help end the conflict.
Seven weeks into the invasion of Ukraine, Russia has put significant pressure on the eastern territories of their neighbours, with Donbas set to be the location of the next major battle of the war.
Speaking to CNN’s Jake Tapper, the Ukrainian President said: “In the centuries-old history of Ukraine, there is the story that Ukraine has either taken some territory or needs to give up some territory.

“Ukraine and the people of our states are absolutely clear: We don’t want anyone else’s territory and we are not going to give up our own.”
However, Zelenskyy noted that the likelihood of negotiations with Russia is thinning after what transpired in cities such as Bucha, Borodyanka, and Mariupol.
Zelenskyy said: “We cannot give up our territory, but we must find at least some dialogue with Russia if they are capable and if we are still ready. But the chances of this are growing less by the day.”
Zelenskyy added that if Russia was to capture Donbas, there is no guarantee they wouldn’t again try to capture the capital city of Kyiv.
