A man has been roasted on social media for suggesting to his pregnant wife that they name their child after his ex-girlfriend who tragically died.
He revealed their baby will arrive in 12 weeks and things got rather heated when they arrived on the topic of names.
The man, who we'll call Nick, took to Reddit to ask if he was an a**hole for suggesting his ex's name.

"I had a girlfriend for around six years before meeting my now wife. Unfortunately, she passed away and I was absolutely devastated. It's still painful to think about and I always imagined naming a child in her memory," he explained.
He said he loves the name anyway, but his wife was 'unimpressed' by his request.
"She felt it was strange and didn't make sense as Nancy had been my girlfriend. The way I see it is that Nancy was very important to me for a really long time," he said.

He broke up with Nancy two months after meeting his current wife.
Nancy died two years after that.
"She was my best friend and losing her was just a terrible thing. I feel as though it would be a great way to remember and honour a dear friend who I miss everyday," Nick added.
His wife obviously did not agree, with Nick revealing it has caused a lot of issues. But he doesn't see the problem.

"I dropped it and said it was important we both agreed on the name but she's still insisting it's strange and she doesn't understand why I suggested it," he wrote.
"I don't know if she feels insecure or maybe the pregnancy is stressing her but she just won't drop it. I honestly don't see the issue whatsoever."
He was roasted on Reddit for his galling request to his pregnant partner, with people slamming him online for wanting to make their child a daily reminder to his wife that someone came before her.

One said: "Not how you intended it, but it comes across as 'Hey wife you're my second choice, so let's name our kid after what would have been my first choice'."
Another added: "Am I the only one thinking about the kid growing up to learn her dad used to moan her name?"
A third quipped: "I’ll be damned if I grow a baby for nine months just to name it after my husband's ex. You need to show more respect to your wife and ask her to forgive you."
Personally, we can't believe he didn't understand why his wife would be upset.
