I've got bad news for any fans of the Chicken Big Mac – the impressive burger is being taken off the McDonald's menu.
McDonald's fans across the country were quick to celebrate when McDonald's announced the release of the Chicken Big Mac in February, and for the following weeks, foodies revelled in the joy of getting to sink their teeth into not one, but two crispy chicken patties, sandwiched between three pieces of bread, lettuce, pickles and the classic Big Mac sauce.
The addition of the item meant fans of the chicken burger no longer had to buy two separate orders to experience the height and glory of the Big Mac, but it's all set to come to an end today (March 15), when the burger is being taken off the menu.

Rest assured, the Chicken Big Mac isn't going away due to a lack of popularity – in fact, the burger proved so popular following its release that it sold out "almost everywhere" in less than two weeks, forcing the restaurant to momentarily stop offering it until it had chance to restock.
The end has, in fact, always been in sight, as McDonald's said from the start that the burger was available 'for a limited time only', and now that time has officially run out.
It's undoubtedly a sad day for those who enjoy choosing chicken over beef, especially if the reaction to the news of it being temporarily removed from the menu was anything to go by. Responding to the news of the sell-out in February, one devastated Twitter user wrote: "Queued 40 mins for a Chicken Big Mac for them to be sold out. In the drive through as well, wounded."
The end of the Chicken Big Mac has prompted some fans to try and make the most of it while it lasts, with another fan writing: "The fact I’ve just seen the chicken Big Mac ends tomoz is my excuse to get in the car and get myself one."
Still, when one door closes, another door opens, and the end of the Chicken Big Mac is no different. This time, the metaphorical door comes in the way of not only the much-loved Big Tasty range, but also the Homestyle Crispy Chicken, Chilli Cheese Bites, the Cadbury Caramel McFlurry and, perhaps best of all, the Crème Egg McFlurry.

The ice cream marks the approach of Easter for many, so while you might be sad to say goodbye to the Chicken Big Mac today, you can at least look forward to the new releases, which are set to arrive tomorrow (16 March), until 26 April.
