McDonald’s forced to shut down after ‘dead frog is thrown inside’

McDonald’s forced to shut down after ‘dead frog is thrown inside’

Some McDonald's diners got more than they bargained for when people threw a dead frog around

A McDonald's was forced to shut down temporarily after some people threw a frog into the restaurant while people were right in the middle of eating.

The fast foot outlet at Morfa Shopping Park was targeted in an incredibly strange way as 'a group of older boys' were able to force it to close up and clean by throwing around the dead frog.

The incident, which happened near Swansea, was confirmed by South Wales Police who said the act of amphibian-lobbing was committed 'where families were eating'.

Such an incident was sure to leave diners looking a little green, while staff at the McDonald's were surely hopping mad that someone did something so strange as to chuck around a frog in their restaurant.

Normally when people are a bit unhappy in McDonald's the worst they do is go into a bit of a rant about their food taking so long, not concoct some strange act involving throwing a dead frog around.

The initial tweet from the police said the critter throwing felons 'thought it amusing to throw a live frog', but in a statement later provided to Sky News it seems as though the animal had croaked.

They said: "South Wales Police was called just before 4.30pm yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 21st February, with a report of anti-social behaviour in McDonald's in Morfa Shopping Park.

"The report indicated that three youths had brought a dead frog into the premises and set it on a number of tables before allegedly throwing the amphibian into the service area."

"The outlet closed for a period of time to reinstate the appropriate food hygiene and safety standards. Inquiries are ongoing to identify the youths."

In their initial tweet announcing that the McDonald's had to be shut down for a time South Wales Police said images had been 'captured' of the incident, so perhaps they know what the people who kermitted this act look like.

McDonald's has been considering new measures to tackle anti-social behaviour in their restaurants, and chucking around a dead frog would certainly fit that description.

One branch of Maccies in Shepherd's Bush has found that playing classical music over the speakers instead of pop actually works rather well.

Apparently this move helped bring a 'different and calmer tone' which led to a much more pleasant experience for everyone.

As for the frog-lobbing youths, we hope to bring you the ribbeting conclusion to this case in due course.
