Russell Brand has been accused of sexually assaulting an extra on the set of a film in 2010.
A lawsuit filed in the New York State Supreme Court refers to a woman under anonymity as Jane Doe who claims that Brand assaulted her in July 2010 on the set of the film Arthur.
An affidavit claimed that Brand 'appeared intoxicated, smelled of alcohol, and was carrying a bottle of vodka on set' on 7 July, 2010, before the alleged assault occurred.

The anonymous woman claims that Brand then exposed himself to her 'in full view of the cast and crew', before alleging that he followed her into the bathroom later that day and assaulted her while 'a member of production crew guarded the door from outside'.
Court documents say that the woman 'continues to struggle with the resultant trauma' and that she 'fears retaliation from current and future employers' if her anonymity is lost.
In addition to being sued, Brand has been subject to a restraining order which claims that the anonymous woman 'already appeared to be retaliated against for trying to reject Brand’s advances when she was not allowed back on the second and third day of her work assignment'.

Warner Bros and other production companies involved in the making of the movie Arthur have also been named as defendants in the filing.
LADbible have contacted Russell Brand's representatives and Warner Bros for comment.
This marks the first time that accusations against Brand have been made in a court of law.
The Metropolitan Police are currently investigating multiple allegations of sex offences by Brand following a joint investigation by The Times and C4 Dispatches.

Brand has previously denied the accusations made against him, and has insisted that the relationships he had were 'always consensual'.
The police have confirmed that they have received multiple allegations of sexual offences following the publication of the investigation into Brand.

In a statement, they said that all of the allegations were non-recent and encouraged anyone who felt they had cause to come forward to do so.
Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy, from the Met’s Central Specialist Crime Command, said: “We continue to encourage anyone who believes they may have been a victim of a sexual offence, no matter how long ago it was, to contact us.
“We understand it can feel like a difficult step to take and I want to reassure that we have a team of specialist officers available to advise and support.”
