A biohacker who spends $2 million a year in a bid to get an 18-year-old's body has revealed how he has to wear a device on his private parts every night, as one of many – ahem – great lengths he’ll go to in order to stay youthful.
Bryan Johnson, 46, says he has the biological age of a teenager, and believes in his anti-aging and longevity methods so much that he has made a career out of it for himself.
The entrepreneur – who sold his payment processing tech business, Braintree Venmo, to PayPal for $800 million (then £492 million) a decade ago – has a team of 30 doctors headed by Cambridge-based anti-ageing expert Dr Oliver Zolman, who closely monitor his blood, heart, liver, kidneys, brain, blood vessels and sexual health.

Johnson says he has the heart of a 37-year-old, the skin of a 28-year-old and the lung-capacity and fitness of an 18-year-old, all thanks to a rigorous daily routine that includes a 1,977-calorie diet, exercising for at least an hour and a precise bedtime of 8.30pm.
But the strict lifestyle doesn’t end when he closes his eyes at night.
In a new interview with TIME, Johnson spoke about the device he wears on his penis in bed, which he uses to measure his erections.
Journalist Charlotte Alter noted how his bedroom has ‘almost nothing in it: no photos, no books, no television, no glass of water, no phone charger, no chair with piled-up clothes he tried on once, no dry cleaning he meant to put away, no towels, no mirror, no nothing’.

Johnson explained: “I only sleep in here. No work, no reading.”
The only two objects in the room apart from the bed are a ‘laser-face shield he uses for collagen growth and wrinkle reduction’ and the ‘device he wears on his penis while he sleeps to measure his nighttime erections’, which Alter said looks like ‘a little Airpods case with a turquoise strap, like a purse worn by a penis’.
“I have, on average, two hours and 12 minutes each night of erection of a certain quality,” Johnson continued.

“To be age 18, it would be three hours and 30 minutes.”
He sees nighttime erections as a ‘a biological age marker for your sexual function’ - one that also has implications on one’s cardiovascular fitness.
In a recent interview with Steven Barlett's The Diary of a CEO podcast, Johnson also revealed he'll never go for any 'hanky panky' after his strict 8.30pm bedtime.

Barlett joked: "Okay, so you've got to like morning glory!"
Oh, and in another recent move, Johnson announced he's getting ‘injected’ to help him achieve a 'prolonged erection', among other things.
“I’m getting my penis injected Friday which is an arousing topic,” he said on Twitter, adding that he was ‘Rejuvenating Johnson’s Johnson’.
Johnson went on to explain the steps to the process and what they'd be focusing on, which are:

- penis injection w/Alprostadil (prolonged erection), measuring penile artery (L+R) peak/min blood flow
- ejaculation vol
- max urination speed
- sperm motility
- penis plaque check
When someone asked about his ‘baseline for ejaculation volume’ - as if this was a remotely rational conversation to have – Johnson replied: “Baseline ejaculate volume is 3.0 mL, >1.4 mL is normal.”
Another Twitter user wrote: “Is this where we are as a society?”
Another added: “I think none of this is normal.”
