Keir Starmer has dropped a massive hint on the idea of having an extra bank holiday if football comes home this weekend.
Thanks to a late Ollie Watkins goal in last night's Euro 2024 semi-final (10 July) against the Netherlands, England came out with a 2-1 win and marked their place in the final against Spain on Sunday (14 July).
Gareth Southgate's squad has made history after becoming the first team to enter a second successive Euro final, after losing out on penalties to Italy in the last competition.

It'll be no easy task though, as Spain has probably been the best team in the tournament so far.
“Well, we have to get the ball off them first!" the manager said.
“It’s not as simple as us having the ball and making them run. I mean, they press very, very well, so we’re going to have to be exceptional with the ball, and we’re going to have to be exceptional without it.

“But it’s a final, you expect it to be that way. They’ve been the best team. We’re starting to show a better version of ourselves."
However, if we actually do manage to win, our new Prime Minister said that the UK should 'certainly mark the occasion', amid calls for an extra bank holiday.
Starmer told broadcasters in Washington DC: “I don’t want to jinx it. I went to the last Euros final, I don’t want to go through that again.
“I don’t want to jinx anything but we must mark it in some way. But the most important thing is getting it over the line on Sunday.”

The Arsenal supporter, who regularly plays five-a-side, was watching the game in a room with his Dutch counterpart Dick Schoof.
“I managed to pop out from one of my sessions for just five minutes which is when I saw Harry Kane get the first goal," Starmer added.
“I missed the second one but it was brilliant.

“So on we go now, great chance. I’ve always said this team were going to go all the way so I’m really, really pleased and just good luck for Sunday.”
Meanwhile, Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey earlier called for a one-off bank holiday if England are victorious.
He said: “The Three Lions are playing their first ever final on foreign soil, and if they bring it home, the Government should bring home a bank holiday to celebrate.
“England deserves the chance to celebrate a once-in-a-generation event.

“Who knows, we might even get decent weather.”
