Ryan Giggs' father Danny Wilson claims he was was nearly arrested after he found out about his son's affair with his brother’s wife.
The former Manchester United winger - whose retrial later this month on domestic violence charges was abandoned after lawyers withdrew the prosecution - had a controversial eight-year affair with his brother Rhodri’s wife, Natasha Lever.

The 49-year-old was due to go on trial for a second time on 31 July, accused of controlling or coercive behaviour towards his ex-girlfriend Kate Greville, 39, between August 2017 and November 2020.
Giggs was also accused of assault by 'losing control' and head-butting her and the common assault of Greville’s sister Emma by elbowing her in the jaw, during a row at his home in Worsley, Greater Manchester, on 1 November, 2020.
However, the decision to withdraw the charges was announced at a hearing at Manchester Crown Court on 18 July, two weeks before Giggs' retrial was scheduled to begin.
Giggs has now been cleared of controlling and coercive behaviour, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.

Now, in a new interview with the Daily Mail, Giggs' father and former rugby star Wilson - who called his son a 'rat' and a 'womaniser' - said he couldn't not 'understand how anyone could do that to his brother'.
"I read about it in a Sunday paper, jumped in my car and zoomed up the M4 towards Manchester. God knows what I’d have done to him but it wouldn’t have been nice," he said.
"I was pulled over for speeding twice and the second time I said to the copper, 'I’m Ryan Giggs’ dad', and he could see that I was mad with him.

"He said, 'I won’t give you a ticket, but just take five minutes’ break then turn round and go back home', which I did."
However, the father admitted that he also wasn't always faithful to his partners.
"I’ve been faithful to my current partner Dawn, but before that, no. I wasn’t," the 67-year-old said.

"Not with any of my former partners. Aren’t most guys like that? We’ve all had a few girlfriends.
"Don’t put me on the spot about how many, but nowhere near as many as Ryan, God forbid.
"And I’d settled down with Dawn by my 40s.
"Ryan should be surrounding himself with better people, getting a grip, calming down.

"Everything’s been given to him on a plate since he was 15."
Of his son’s acquittal, Wilson said: "He is a womaniser, no doubt about that, but it doesn’t make him guilty of assault. I’m pleased he’s been cleared of that."
