Reason Taylor Swift was booed at Super Bowl as fans 'spot three-word comment' she fired back

Taylor Swift was booed when she appeared on the big screen at the Super Bowl

It seems there could be a logical reason why Taylor Swift was 'booed aggressively' when she appeared on the big screen at Super Bowl LIX on Sunday (9 February).

The 'Bad Blood' singer, 35, was at the Super Bowl to cheer on her boyfriend - and Kansas City Chiefs tight end - Travis Kelce and his team, who took on the Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

But before the game started, NFL reporter Ari Meirov took to X to share a video of how the crowd reacted when Swift appeared on the big screen with Ice Spice.

"Taylor Swift got showed on the big screen and got booed aggressively," he wrote, as the musician appeared to ask "What's going on?" when it happened.

Why Taylor Swift was booed at the Super Bowl?

Fans have been sharing their theories online, as one NFL fan said: "Everyone right now 'the crowd boos Taylor swift!!?'

"Guys... the crowd is 80% eagles fans. Of course they booed Taylor.

"Don’t worry, our girl is loved deeply, and she knows it."

'"Congrats, @Eagles fans. Taylor Swift about to write a song about getting booed by you," another penned.

As someone else said: "Holy s**t - Taylor Swift was just on the big screen and was aggressively booed. That’s how loud these eagles fans are rn."

Was Donald Trump booed or cheered at the Super Bowl?

Super Bowl viewers couldn't quite figure out if Donald Trump was booed when the national anthem was being sung.

The US President - who became the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl - was seen in the stands as Jon Batiste was belting out the American anthem.

But while the Grammy-winning singer was performing, some fans thought the new president was being booed by people in the crowd.

"Y’all didn’t boo at Donald Trump loud enough," one person tweeted.

"That was pretty s**tty to show Trump during Jon Batiste singing the National Anthem, forced me and half of America to boo," a second penned.

Although others couldn't work out if it was a boo or a cheer.

Someone else said: "Did they cheer or boo Trump? Difficult to tell."

As another echoed: "Did they boo or cheer Trump at the #SuperBowlLIX?"

Meanwhile, Trump said in a statement before the game that he was 'looking forward to joining the fans' at the famous sporting event.

"Football is America’s most popular sport - for good reason - it fosters a sense of national unity, bringing families, friends, and fans together and strengthening communities," he added.

“This annual tradition transcends our differences and personifies our shared patriotic values of family, faith, and freedom heroically defended by our military service members, law enforcement officers, and first responders.

“We value their devotion to protecting our great Nation and salute their selfless service."
