Super Bowl commentator made brutal Travis Kelce comment while showing Taylor Swift on screen

Taylor Swift was in New Orleans to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs

Travis Kelce was on the end of a brutal insult from one of the Super Bowl's commentators as his girlfriend Taylor Swift was shown on TV screens around the world.

For Super Bowl LIX, Fox had the broadcast rights in the USA with the network bringing in some of the biggest and best names in NFL history for the huge sporting event that comes around every February.

But the storybook ending to last season for Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs, where the tight end celebrated on the field with his pop star girlfriend Swift, was not on the cards for 2025.

And in reality, it was a hell of a lot worse with the situation brutally tough for the Chiefs as they came up against an incredibly well-oiled machine in the Philadelphia Eagles, who won the game by 40 points to 22.

For Kelce, his 93 yards and nine catches from the 2024 Super Bowl were a distant memory.

And Fox was on hand to make sure he knew it.

With the score at 17-0 to the Eagles just before halftime and the hugely anticipated Kendrick Lamar show, Fox decided to turn the screw on 35-year-old Kelce while the camera shone on his girlfriend as she watched on helplessly from the stands.

"Well, Taylor Swift is in attendance... but she hasn't had much to cheer about yet because Travis Kelce hasn't caught a ball," the Fox commentator brutally said.

Fans couldn't cope with the comment after it went viral on social media.

One wrote: "I'm sorry but I burst out laughing when this happened."

Another posted: "The commentator chose violence."

And a third said: "This is so funny."

Thankfully for Kelce, he didn't remain on zero catches for the day.

By the end of the full 60 minutes, he had caught four balls from quarterback Patrick Mahomes with a total of just 39 yards.

Mahomes himself didn't end the game with bad statistics, with 257 yards and three touchdowns.

But it was his two turnovers, that directly ended in scores for the Eagles, that took the game away from him and his teammates before he could even try and fight back, with most Chiefs scores coming when the game was already done and dusted.

Jalen Hurts was crowned Super Bowl MVP in a decision that shocked nobody.

Now attention turns to whether that will be the last we see of Travis Kelce in an NFL uniform or if he'll play another year.
