A brilliant clip of people dancing in a pub has gone viral and been dubbed the 'most British thing ever' by viewers.

Taken in the Chestergate pub in Stockport, the video shows a pub full of Brits dancing along to 'I Can't Help Myself' by the Four Tops while expertly avoiding spilling their pints.

With the camera panning around the room, you get to see pretty much every single slice of British pub life from the bloke dancing with his shirt pulled up to the ones just having a little boogie on the way back to their seats.

The Chestergate pub has a regular habit of posting videos on Facebook of their customers enjoying themselves, and this clip has found its way to over a million people since going viral.

It really is a work of art and some people have compared it to that iconic picture of a night out in Manchester taken a few years ago.

Just as that picture seemed to capture everything about the great British night out, from someone getting arrested to the guy lying on the ground reaching for his pint, this video has done exactly the same thing.

This bloke is having the absolute time of his life and who can blame him?

Anyone who's ever sat in a pub will be able to look at it and instantly recognise pretty much everything in the video, and if we're being honest, we've all been pretty much everyone in the clip at some point.

Pub manager Steph Armstrong took over the Chestergate in April alongside her partner, and said she couldn't believe how popular the video had become.

She told the Manchester Evening News they'd first started posting clips of pub life to Facebook so they could show everyone what a good time people were having in the Chestergate.

She said: "We try and do live feeds and a bit of insight into what goes in the pub, and show everyone enjoying themselves. But we couldn't believe it when we saw this one had reached over a million people.

"There's quite a lot of regulars here, they're just a really lovely bunch. It's like a little community pub, they're all friends and there's a lovely atmosphere where everyone sings and dances and feels safe and happy."

Living proof that you don't need to get out of your booth to tear up the dance floor.

People watching the video have found it absolutely hilarious and reckon it's the 'most British thing ever' as it captures everything we love about going to pubs.

Someone else picked out people doing the iconic 'walking to the dance floor dance' as they went between the bar and their seats.

Others said the Chestergate had 'great taste in music', while another said the viral video showed the joys of a 'proper pub' where you 'leave everything at the front door and have a laugh'.

So many were enjoying seeing a room full of people 'living their best life', though, if you want to make sure you've still got a pub to go to in the future, make sure you give your local plenty of love.
