New iPhone 15 fails bend test as it breaks in user's hands

New iPhone 15 fails bend test as it breaks in user's hands

People are now slamming Apple's latest addition

It seems tech heads all over haven't been able to shut up about the brand-new iPhone 15 series since it first launched earlier this month.

Apple officially announced the launch of the eagerly-anticipated iPhone 15 series complete with a brand-new set of features a few weeks back (12 September), but it's clear that not everyone is 100 percent happy with them.

The latest controversy sees one YouTuber, JerryRigEverything, show how the new iPhone 15 Pro Max seriously failed the bend test after the device completely shattered in his hands.

Prepare to wince as you watch the clip below:

From users claiming they've been 'robbed' as a new feature on the devices has already been on Android for years now to others complaining over facing an extra £20 charge once charging ports are swapped over - it's clear people haven't held back with their opinions on the snazzy new devices.

Apple's official website advertises: "The innovative new design features back glass that has colour infused throughout the material.

"A custom dual ion-exchange process for the glass, and an aerospace-grade aluminium enclosure, help make iPhone 15 incredibly durable."

However, according to JerryRigEverything's demonstration, the model's titanium structure was the farthest thing from 'durable'.

The YouTube video's description reads: "Apple's new iPhone 15 Pro Max FAILS my Durability Test!"

It continued: "I freakin' love Titanium. It is the COOLEST metal on the planet! When Apple said their new iPhone 15 Pro Max was going to be made with Grade 5 Titanium - I was flabbergasted.

"However... it turns out that the back glass of the Titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max isn't quite ready for prime time. Something is wrong with Apple's new iPhone 15 Pro Max."

The video has since gone viral after clocking up more than 7.9 million views on the platform since it was first posted just a few days ago on Saturday (23 September).

With over 248k likes and thousands upon thousands of comments - it's clear the internet couldn't wait to share their opinions on the bend test.

One YouTube user penned: "I was shocked, didn't expect the Pro Max to break that easily.. Damn that break was shocking."

A second echoed: "I'm shocked. Apple should definitely explain this."

"Holy cr*p the glass cracking genuinely made my jaw drop," a third chimed in. "I was fully expecting it to survive it like usual wtf."

While we may not all just happen to accidentally snap our phones in half, YouTube users did point out that other forces could similarly damage the costly piece of tech.

"The point is it’s not taking much force," pointed out one viewer. "That’s accidentally leaving it in your pocket as you sit or dropping it wrong."

They continued: "No other iPhone has done that. I love Apple but this isn’t good or acceptable. I think it’s because the titanium is too strong so the pressure goes to the glass as there’s no bend in the frame."

A final YouTube user added the thing we were all probably thinking when watching the video.

"I almost forgot how painful it was to watch something expensive and new being tortured to death," they wrote.

Painful indeed.
