Tom Hardy is hardy by name, hardy by nature - as well as playing a tough guy on screen, the actor won a gold medal in Jiu-Jitsu over the weekend. Check it out:

In addition to proving his skills in the sport, Hardy is a trustee of REORG Charity, which teaches those with life-altering injuries or those who are suffering from PTSD and depression the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
This weekend's championship, the profits of which went straight to the good cause, saw Hardy steal the show - and not just because of his Hollywood status.
In a series of videos shared on TikTok by Jiu-Jitsu Geoff, the 44-year-old actor can be seen taking down his opponents with expert precision.
Alongside the footage, the TikToker wrote: "Tom Hardy dominating REORG Open taking double gold. Won every match by submission, the man is a killer."

He also joked: "Tom Hardy out here ripping people's arms and legs off."
Charles Bronson would be proud.
Dozens of people have taken to the comments section to share their praise for the Brit's moves, with one writing: "Sheesh that side control escape into a takedown was sick. He's legit."

Another wrote, "When you consider he’s in his early 40’s that’s pretty damn good," while a third added, "Tom Hardy is Perfect. He’s like 10/10."
Of course, some people made a few film jokes, including this person who said: "You have to remember that Venom is inside him."
Another quipped: "He trained with the League of Shadows. Only one man stands a chance…."
Speaking of Venom, the actor also made a young fan's day after the competition in an impromptu meet-and-greet.

Six-year-old Ollie's mum Carla Frost said she and her son are big fans of the star, so when they heard he would be competing nearby they drove down with the hopes of saying hello.
Speaking to the Express and Star, she said: "I received a message that he was in our town competing in a Jiu-jitsu tournament, drove down, walked in, asked for him and was told he had just left.
"My son then burst into tears.

"The lovely lady from REORG decided to just check. The next thing I know this lovely man is walking across the sports hall to us.
"He instinctively scooped my son into a hug and proceeded to just make his year.
"He's so kind and thoughtful. So surreal! My son has grown up hearing me talk about how talented and brilliant this man is.
"He loves Venom so this is something I know he will always remember."
