King Charles has issued an official health update following his cancer diagnosis.
Earlier this year, it was announced the King was undergoing a treatment plan after tests identified a form of cancer.
At the time in February, Buckingham Palace said he had been ‘advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties’. But he was able to carry on with State business and official paperwork.

Today (26 April), it has been announced that the King is set to return to public royal duties after the positive effect of cancer treatment.
It’s been widely reported that the 75-year-old has been pretty keen to get back to some of his public work, despite his illness.
On Tuesday, Charles and Camilla are going to visit a cancer treatment centre to mark this development, meeting with medical specialists and patients.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “His Majesty’s medical team are very encouraged by the progress made so far and remain positive about the King’s continued recovery.”
They continued: “His Majesty’s treatment programme will continue, but doctors are sufficiently pleased with the progress made so far that the King is now able to resume a number of public-facing duties.
“Forthcoming engagements will be adapted where necessary to minimise any risks to His Majesty’s continued recovery.”
The King’s diary isn’t going to be a packed summer programme and attendance will be announced closer to the time and ‘subject to doctors’ advice’.

There will also be ‘adaptations made where necessary to minimise risk’ to his recovery.
The spokesperson added: “The pacing of the King’s programme will be carefully calibrated as his recovery continues, in close consultation with his medical team.”
Buckingham Palace said in a statement: “His Majesty The King will shortly return to public-facing duties after a period of treatment and recuperation following his recent cancer diagnosis.

"To help mark this milestone, the King and Queen will make a joint visit to a cancer treatment centre next Tuesday, where they will meet medical specialists and patients.
“This visit will be the first in a number of external engagements His Majesty will undertake in the weeks ahead.
"In addition, The King and Queen will host Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress of Japan for a state visit in June, at the request of HM Government.

“As the first anniversary of the coronation approaches, Their Majesties remain deeply grateful for the many kindnesses and good wishes they have received from around the world throughout the joys and challenges of the past year.”
The form of the King’s cancer has not been disclosed and while it’s pretty positive news that the King is able to return to these public royal duties, it’s important to understand he does still have the disease and will continue to receive treatment.
This comes as a new photo of Charles and Camilla was taken on 10 April – the day after their 19th wedding anniversary – showing the pair smiling as they walk arm in arm along a path.
