Dad of teenager who vanished after alarming phone call reveals her final words as search continues

Her dad said her phone had been snatched from her before she went missing

The dad of a teenager who went missing in London said she'd called him to say that her phone had been snatched before she disappeared.

19-year-old Lilyanne Hook called her parents from an unknown number on 11 November to tell them that her own phone had been stolen.

The teenager was last seen just after 10pm on 10 November leaving her Lewisham home, and the last time her family heard from her was on 15 November, when she called to say she was in Peckham, but they haven't heard anything since then.

She had studied for a year at the University of Birmingham before moving to London.

Her dad Mark, who lives in Shrewsbury, told the Metro that his daughter had her mum's mobile number memorised and would always call her to check in if she didn't have her own phone on her.

Mark said that his daughter would check in regularly and never went more than a couple of days without speaking to her family.

He told the paper: "She’s a very outgoing and independent young lady, but the longest we have ever gone without speaking to her before was two days.

"We can’t think why she would not want any contact, but we just want to know she is okay.

"She rang us from an unknown number to let us know her phone had been snatched, and we’ve been worried ever since."

He went on to tell The Independent he'd travelled down to London to try and find his daughter, saying the experience was a 'living nightmare' and that 'someone, somewhere knows where my daughter is'.

"It’s her birthday on 21 December and I have to be with her then," he said of his daughter, describing her as 'the brightest, funniest girl I have ever met'.

He explained that he'd spent the weekend putting up posters of Lilyanne around Peckham, and in a direct address to his daughter, said: "We all love you and please come home for Christmas."

Lewisham Police have been making appeals on social media to find the 19-year-old and have encouraged anyone with information that might help to come forward.

They said: "Can you help us find 19-year-old Lilyanne who is missing from Lewisham?

"She is about 5 ft 1, of slim build, with long brown wavy hair and a nose piercing on both sides."

Anyone who does have information which might help is encouraged to call the police on 101 and quote 01/1112099/24.
