People have slammed a millionaire after he bragged about using bus lanes and being able to avoid any of the fines he'd be slapped with.
Luke Desmaris was filmed by a friend driving down a bus lane past a row of traffic in a TikTok video where he wrote: "To poor people this is a bus lane, to rich people it's a VIP lane to avoid traffic.
"We don't care about the fines."

The 28-year-old was driving his £130,000 Mercedes G Wagon when he turned into an empty bus lane and appeared to drive right by a row of vehicles waiting in their lane.
The Essex man said: "Broke people see a bus lane, I see a G Wagon lane."
To clear this up, you're only allowed to drive in a bus lane if it's outside the buses operational hours so long as it's safe.

There might also be occasions when as a driver you have no choice but to move lanes, perhaps to avoid an obstruction on the road.
When that's the case you've got to move back into the regular lanes as soon as it's safe to do so.
If you're pulling into the bus lane to try and skip the traffic you're going to be hit with a fine as most lanes have pretty decent CCTV coverage and can spot that your G Wagon is rather obviously not a bus.
The cost of fines for driving in bus lanes vary across the country.

If you're in Greater London the fine for driving in a bus lane is £160, though it gets halved down to £80 if you pay within 14 days.
In other parts of the country it's £65, but you'll only pay £30 if you pay within two weeks.
Of course, Desmaris' whole point was that he was rich enough to afford any fine, which is what made it a 'VIP lane' for 'rich people' while 'broke people' had to stay in their lane.

Luke shared the controversial clip of him driving through the bus-lane in his flash motor on TikTok and was slammed by his fellow drivers.
One fellow fumed: "Police and ambulance use these lanes for responding to emergencies."
Another denounced the millionaire as a 'typical a-hole just because you can afford to do something doesn't mean you should'.
Someone else thought Luke was a 'bit sad though', telling him: "Obviously think you’re above everyone else."

One added: "You will care when you lose your licence."
In general you won't get points on your licence for accidentally driving in the bus lane, though of course the millionaire wasn't doing it by accident.
Luke previously caused a stir in October 2022 after admitting to parking on double yellow lines so he could park right outside of buildings.
He claimed he didn’t mind paying the fines as he could afford them.
