Tim Martin, the boss of JD Wetherspoon, has revealed why dogs are banned from all of his pubs across with United Kingdom.
Pretty much everyone has sipped a pint or two in a Spoons at some point or another. With more than 800 of them found across the country, it's an establishment that fiercely competes with the traditional pub for your spare change earmarked for the boozer.
It's got a famously cheap pricing strategy, and punters have for years wondered how Martin earns a profit.

It's a wonder that lasts for a few seconds, mind, as attention turns to supping those cheap drinks happily purchased.
Now, in a new interview on the subject matter, 69-year-old Martin has revealed exactly how he keeps prices so cheap. But alongside this, he's also been asked to explain why dogs are banned from every Spoons in the country.
Why are Wetherspoons prices so low?
Asking if the low pricing strategy was due to the beer being close to its expiry date, Martin labelled the claim an 'urban myth'.

Instead, he said it was because they keep their profit per drink as low as possible, with a focus on huge supply turning over handsome profit margins.
"We sell a lot and have been doing for years," Martin explained.
"Our margins are low."
Why is music banned in Wetherspoons?

With music also banned in JD Wetherspoon establishments, Sky asked Martin why he 'hates music'.
"I don't hate music, I love it actually. But it's quite divisive.
"In the first pub we had music and I'd go to the loo and come back and The Strangers were playing at top volume so i thought in the end, with a lot of people you don't need music.
"You can choose your own when you go home, as I do myself."

Asking why people can't bring their dog in to a Spoons pub, Martin revealed the ban wasn't initially in place.
"At pub number one I had a dog, a very nice Doberman Pinscher, but he was very frightened of other dogs and barked like hell whenever another dog came in.
"It's also a divisive issue. Some people like them in big pubs like ours, but with lots of children at half term like at the moment, it doesn't work very well."
Martin also revealed his favourite drink in his own pubs, saying Abbot Ale is his favourite labelling it the 'nectar of the Gods'.
