Most people barely give the interior design a second thought when they waltz into Wetherspoons and make a beeline for the bar to get the round in.
The carpet is definitely the last thing on people's minds, except from when they spill a bit of their drink on it and are left hoping that their illuminous cocktail pitcher doesn't leave a glaring stain.
But it seems that we should pay more attention to what Wetherspoons decided to cover the floor with, as one super fan spotted there is something quite interesting about the pub chain's choices.

There are more than 800 of the boozers dotted across the UK, but each one offers something a little bit different visually, in terms of size, structure and it's decor.
Most of the clientele are often too kettled to take any notice of the furniture and finishes which the boozer's founder Tim Martin decided on, though.
To be quite honest, I'd be gawking at anything but the carpet if I was three sheets to the wind in a Spoons, as most of the designs are mind-boggling to look at and could leave you feeling a bit dizzy if you stare for too long.

But if you do find yourself gazing into the abyss, you may start questioning whether the bold patterns that adorn the floor are an intentional running theme throughout each and every branch - and yes, they are.
Believe it or not, each of the tapestries are chosen specifically for every individual chain, according to Wetherspoons' head of property development and acquisitions Jon Randall.
He previously said: "We place particular emphasis on the design of our new pubs, investing heavily in every aspect, as well as in the refurbishment of our older premises.
"With more than 900 pubs, that is a lot of carpet. All of our new pub carpets are individually designed, some with details to reflect aspects of the building's history or local area."

Although this went over the heads of the majority of the British public, one bloke managed to work out that there was a method behind the madness of the carpet choices.
Londoner Kit Caless has created an online catalogue displaying the designs of the carpets in hundreds of the branches across the country which is aptly titled 'Wetherspoons Carpets'.
He explained that he was 'amazed to learn that each one has a totally unique carpet' and that his daughters encouraged him to start a website to document all the different ones they see.

Seen as though he first started his valiant quest in 2016, Kit has covered a lot of ground since then, but he also gets help from other Spoons fans who submit their own strange carpet finds.
And according to reports, these tapestries don't come cheap - as they are custom made for each branch by luxury carpet manufacturer Axminster Carpets on a traditional loom, which can cost between £20,000 to £30,000.
So next time you're swaying and spilling your pint everywhere, don't forget that the price of the carpet is equivalent to someone's yearly salary - and that a punter might take a snap of your stain and could sling it on Kit's website.
