Doner-lovers in the North will be delighted to know that a huge drive-thru kebab restaurant is being planned in the centre of Bolton.
The vacant premises on Moor Lane close to Le Mans Crescent is where developers want to turn into a kebab drive-thru, the MEN has reported.
Bolton Council are believed to be in support of the newly submitted planning application and have produced CGI renders of what the two-storey restaurant might look like.
As shown in the images, there are two logos displayed on the front of the building that read 'Kebabs Done Right' and 'German Doner Kebab'.
Previously, the premises was used by charities Mental Health Independent Support Team (MHIST) and Bolton NICE.
The applicants for the proposals are Bolton based Synergie Holdings and opening hours are still yet to be confirmed.
The application form reportedly states that five on-site parking spots would be required, since there are currently none.
However a Bolton highways department says they need more information in order to come to a decision.
Their response states: "Owing to the premises location in relation to the highways around the town centre of Bolton, the applicant will need to submit some form of transport statement in order to justify the proposed change of use.
“The statement should provide a rough indication as to how accessibility to the premises will be controlled and how abuse of the one-way system on Gas Street will be prevented, as well as giving a rough indication of traffic impact from the proposed use.
“In its present form there is insufficient information available within the submission for the Highway Authority to fully comment.”
The plans will be considered by planners in Bolton after a period of consultation with neighbours about the proposals.
On the topic of drive-thrus, last year, Greggs announced its plans to open a number of new drive-thrus in the UK.
A Greggs spokesperson told LADbible: "Greggs drive-thrus conveniently provide our customers with all their usual Greggs favourites on-the-go.
"We are actively pursuing new drive-thru sites nationwide to support our shop estate's growth plans in the coming years."
Fans were made aware of the plans when Greggs put out a cryptic tweet that showed a picture of one of their existing drive-thru lanes.
Greggs has so far opened 12 drive thrus in the UK, including its first drive thru in Wales, which opened this week.
