A manhunt is currently underway in the US after the house of a heath insurance CEO was shot at in the early hours of the morning — prompting parallels to last year's shooting of UnitedHealthcare boss Brian Thompson.
On 21 February, it was reported that an unknown assailant had allegedly approached the home of State Accident Insurance Fund (SAIF) CEO Chip Terhune and fired numerous rounds at the home, shattering the glass front door and windows of the $1.68 million (£1.3 million) home.
A manhunt is now underway for the suspected shooter.
The following day, Terhune sent an email to SAIF employees, acknowledging the incident and adding that he initially believed rocks were being thrown at his Lake Oswego home, which lies just outside the city of Portland.

"I wanted to share a short update with you on the investigation into the security incident which happened outside my home yesterday," Terhune wrote in the email to employees, obtained by KPTV, adding that they had since received an email from an unknown person claiming responsibility for the shooting.
"We have received an email threat purporting to be the person(s) responsible. Although it does not target any specific employee, the email references knowledge of employee and relatives' names and addresses," he continued.

Terhune went on to add that law enforcement had asked him not to share any further details of the alleged email, but reassured workers that anyone named in the correspondence would receive further support.

Meanwhile, Lake Oswego has since released further details about the alleged shooter, including CCTV images, which show a person dressed in dark clothes and wearing a 'possible hoodie or ski mask'.
The 'unknown suspect fired several rounds into the home from close range and left the area on foot', Lake Oswego's statement added, before going on the say that authorities were treating it as a targeted incident.
"Lake Oswego Police believe this was a targeted incident and do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community."

Parallels have since been drawn between the shooting and the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, who was gunned down while attending a conference in New York on 4 December.
26-year-old Luigi Mangione has since been arrested on suspicion of shooting Thompson and charged with second-degree murder, illegal firearms possession and forgery.
Mangione has since pled not guilty to all charges and will face trial at an unspecified date.
