The idea of marrying the love of your life and then decades later being told you're related to them is enough to give anyone's head a little wobble.
But that's exactly what has happened to iconic Hollywood couple Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick.
They've been married since September 1988 and have two children together, in what has been a very long and loving relationship for the pair.

And now the moment they first met has been revealed by the couple, some 37 years ago, when neither of them would have had any idea about their familial relationship.
Bacon is known throughout the film industry, with a Golden Globe to his name alongside an Emmy nomination.
Some of his biggest roles include Footloose, Apollo 13, JFK, and X-Men: First Class.
Sedgwick has enjoyed similar success to her hubby, winning a Golden Globe and Emmy Award.

She has starred in hit crime drama The Closer as well as Miss Rose White and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Bacon, 65, and Sedgwick, 58, were told of their relationship back in 2013 when they appeared on Finding Your Roots, an American ancestry TV show that’s similar to the British series Who Do You Think You Are?
Presenter Henry Louis Gates Jr showed Sedgwick a photo of her ninth cousin once removed and announced: “And his name is Kevin Bacon.”

She was asked about the episode in 2017, to which she said: "I figured I was going to be related to Kevin Bacon — I mean, most white people are related, ultimately.
"I wasn't surprised, honestly.
"Frankly, I figured that was part the reason that they wanted to do both of us. I had to act surprised."
After the relationship was revealed on the show, Sedgwick shouted 'I knew it!' before adding: "As long as we're not first cousins, it's fine."

Following on from the revelation, Sedgwick has this week revealed on her Instagram exactly when her and Bacon met for the first time.
The couple first met in 1987 when filming a TV adaptation of play Lemon Sky. They married some 18 months later, with the two of them very serious very early.
Sedgwick posted an image of the two of them lying on sun loungers in front of a Chevrolet.

Captioning it, she said: "This is a blurry Polaroid of where it all started, (on set shooting Lemon Sky in 1987).
"And it’s been clear ever since… love you forever."
The showing of Finding Your Roots also revealed that Bacon was distant cousins with Brad Pitt; 13th cousin twice removed to be precise.
And it didn't stop there, with President Barack Obama also on the list through Sedgwick's 12th cousin, three times removed, Anthony Woolhouse.
“No kidding. I knew I wasn’t getting enough respect," the actor responded.
