Car dealers test out WeBuyAnyCar's online quote vs actual quote when you take into branch

YouTubers and car flippers in Kent were shocked over WeBuyAnyCar's valuations

Two men who flip cars for a living and post it to YouTube, challenged WeByAnyCar’s online vs actual quotes in-branch, and the difference was shocking.

Selling your car can be such a hassle, as you’re either getting undercut, or you’re fobbing it off to hagglers on selling sites like Gumtree for a quick quid.

Or you could simply choose to sell it to a car buying platform to be done with the annoyance. However, you might not end up getting the cash you’d expected.

I mean, considering there have been loads of instances of people nearly fainting over the valuations WeBuyAnyCar has given them, this isn’t going to be a shock.

One bloke had their Tesla car valuated almost half the price he paid for it.

We Flip Cars in Kent, which is ran by two YouTubers and car dealers, decided to find out for themselves whether the popular car buying company, WeBuyAnyCars were true to their online valuations.

When two customers came to them with their own cars that they wanted to sell, the challenge was set.

One subscriber gave them their Fiat 500, and another sent them their Vauxhall Zafira to flip.

From there, the blokes shared that they wanted to compare prices on WeBuyAnyCar’s online valuation quotes against the actual quotes they received in-branch.

After receiving the prices, they’d then offer their own quote to try and beat the price.

When it came to car number one, the 2013 model was in a good condition but needed a valet before they could present it to the selling company’s branch.

The 2003 Vauxhall Zafira was also in good condition, with the exception of some scrapes and a missing component on the roof, however, it didn’t appear to be ‘a mega problem’ for the chaps as they planned to buff, clean and replace anything necessary.

Ultimately, the men decide to buy both cars from their subscribers, and then presented the two vehicles to WeBuyAnyCar, which initially offered them £2380 online for the Fiat.

But they were miffed when the in-person branch offered just £1817 for the car to be bought by the company.

The lads told their subscribers in their YouTube video how confused they were by the valuation, stating: “Fiat500, let's break some numbers - get to the chase.

“WeBuyAnyCar offered £2380 for that car online, enticed the customer in, as they do with a good offer. When they got there, went around it, knocked it for God knows what - because my opinion is, it is a really nice-looking car. Not much to knock it off for.

“They ended up offer offering them £1,817, so over £500 off what they offered online.”

Calling the mark up, ‘harsh’, they explained what they did for the subscriber.

To make sure their subscriber got a decent payout, they decided to offer them £2,200, with a plan of spending £200-£300 to spruce it up and then flip it for £3995.

As for the Vauxhall, the money was pittance.

Obviously, considering the car had been owned for 12 years with a bit of work needing to be carried out on it, WeBuyAnyCar offered £680 online, then £249 in branch. To this, they said it was ‘absolutely absurd’ of a price.

The flippers ended up paying the subscriber £500 to help the customer out and admitted they could retail it from between £1495 and £1995.

However, they’ve decided to keep the car for themselves instead of selling it on, so they can make use of the vehicle for their own operations.

So, all in all, their subscribers were paid out and happy.
