Anyone for a nice phallic tidbit? We present to you: Willem Dafoe’s penis is so large that they had to use a stand-in willy in one of his films.
You may recall that Dafoe had his fair share of nude scenes in 2009’s Antichrist, and according to director Lars von Trier, the actor’s actual penis didn’t make the final cut because it was ‘so large that it left people confused’.
After the film’s release, Von Trier explained: “He [Dafoe] has an enormous d**k. We had to take those scenes out of the film. We had a stand-in for him because we had to take the scenes out with his own d**k.”

Speaking to The Boston Phoenix, the acclaimed director was then asked to clarify what he meant by a ‘stand-in d**k’.
Von Trier replied: “We had to [have a stand-in d**k], because Will’s was too big.”
Journalist Peter Keough then asked Von Trier: “To fit on screen?” to which he replied: “No, too big because everybody got very confused when they saw it.”

You all caught that, right? The ‘too big because everybody got very confused when they saw it’ part? The mind boggles.
Rumours of Dafoe’s enormous willy became so rife in the celeb sphere that back in 2013, while profiling Dafoe for The Guardian, journo Stuart Jeffries bluntly asked the actor whether it’s true that he’s the owner of Hollywood's biggest penis.
Jeffries noted that Dafoe ‘didn’t deny’ the rumour, but rather got up to head to an audition while remarking: “I don't really work in Hollywood any more.”

LADbible has approached Dafoe’s representative for comment.
Moving away from the award-winning star’s genitalia, Dafoe fans were left disgruntled last month when one Redditor pointed out that the actor is yet to ‘receive a major acting award’, calling the snub an ‘insult to the art of acting’.
Plenty of commenters thought he should have won the Best Actor Oscar in 2018 for his portrayal of Vincent Van Gogh in At Eternity's Gate.
Rami Malek took home the Oscar that year for playing Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.

Others thought he should have at least been Oscar-nominated for The Lighthouse, while several praised him for The Florida Project where he did pick up a nomination.
Dafoe's first Oscar nomination came all the way back in 1986 for his role as Sgt Elias in Platoon. He has picked up four nods over the course of his career but has yet to walk away with one of the prized gongs.
