Abcde Elaine Sutton is used to people not being able to say her first name, with many simply confused when they first meet her.

On her TikTok account, she regularly posts about some of the weird reactions she gets from people.
And in one of her videos, Abcde says someone actually thought it was 'Obesity'.
Explaining to her followers how it's actually pronounced, she said: "So a lot of you wanted to know how to pronounce my name.
"I just think it's so funny because 'Obesity' is wild. It's pronounced ‘absidee’ – abcde, absidee."

Unsurprisingly, her alphabet-inspired moniker has stirred a lot of interest online, with people unsure as to whether it's some elaborate joke.
In a previous video, Abcde assured people, however, that it was in fact her real name and that her mother chose it.
But the internet being the internet, there are always going to be some who aren't that impressed.
One critic wrote: "Not tryna b mean but its not unique, its the alphabet."

While another kind and considerate user felt the need to say: "This has got to be the worse name I’ve ever heard."
Fortunately, though, there are nice people out there too.
Commenting on one of her videos, someone put: "I want to name my child this.

Echoing the support, another put: "Your name's pretty cool."
But it's not just people who have a hard time with strangers getting their name wrong, it would seem that one of the world's biggest brands has a similar issue.
Last year, it was revealed that we've all probably been saying IKEA wrong our whole lives.
English-speaking people all around the world tend to say eye-key-ah, however, apparently that is incorrect.

YouTuber MacDoesIt shocked the world when he tweeted to his followers that the correct pronunciation is actually ee-kay-ah.
This understandably sent everyone into an unnecessary meltdown because they can't believe the company hasn't tried to correct people earlier.
This little tidbit of information has popped up every now and then, however it doesn't seem to get out to the masses.
A spokesperson for the company explained to Quartz how the name came about.
"'IKEA' is an acronym for the founder's name, Ingvar Kamprad; the name of his family farm, Elmtaryd; and the location of that farm, in the village of Agunnaryd, in Småland, Sweden," they said.
