She told WKRG: “I moved here when I was approximately 10 years old. This is my grandparent’s old homeplace. They bought it in 1965 and it’s been in our family ever since.”
After finding out through a family member that the house had been demolished, she said: “I cried for two days, I was devastated.”
As for who was responsible, Jennifer was at a loss when it came to finding out who destroyed her family home.

But this all changed when other family members spotted the initial coverage on WKRG and got in touch with the name of a construction company seen on the property that January.
When she contacted a Mobile Police investigator, they reached out to the construction company, who have not been named.
The owner admitted to demolishing the house, saying it was a mistake.
“I was not happy because they said they could not arrest them because there was no malicious intent,” added Jennifer.

“I would just have to sue them in civil court.”
Jennifer is now taking legal action and is intending to file a lawsuit, choosing not to name the company as recommended by her attorney.
She said the owners haven’t contacted her with an apology or any further information about why it happened.

The case is ongoing and Jennifer’s not sure what she has in mind in terms of damages she’s hoping to recover as the home meant so much to her.
Jennifer concluded: “I’m not sure what they will come up with or how they will come up with it – that house to me is priceless.”
Dozens of people have commented on the report, with many slamming the construction company for not taking action over their mistake.
“To not immediately reimburse her for the home is such an act of cruelty,” wrote one.

Another said: “‘No malicious intent’ when someone demolishes your house without your knowledge or permission? Really?!”
A third wrote: “I'm so sorry that this happened to you. I can't imagine going through something like that. Family homes are absolutely priceless.
“I'm sure to say that you are heartbroken is an understatement. I feel so sorry for what you and your family are going through.”
