A mum and dad were left astounded after a cruel lie meant that their ‘dead’ son rang them up six months later.

We’ve all been around a brutal sibling rivalry, and it’s common for brothers and sisters to take it a bit far when bickering.

You might get hurled a couple of out-of-line insults, and play fighting might reach a new level - but what this sister did to her brother is just unforgivable.

A man named Callum called into New Zealand's ZM Radio show, to tell the story of when his sister rang their parents, to inform them of his death.

But Callum, as you might have guessed from the radio phone call, was very much still alive.

In a clip that has recently resurfaced, hosts Carl Fletcher, Vaughan Smith and Hayley Sproull were left with their jaws on the floor after listening to the evil tale.

Opening the story on air, he said: “My sisters were in a bit of a tiff with my parents at the time and they weren't really getting along.

"I was living in Wellington while they were in Christchurch.

“My older sister actually called my parents up and told them that I had died."

And if you thought it couldn’t possibly get any worse than that - you would be wrong.

Host Vaughan said: “No offence.

“Your sister sounds like a top level, red flag, crazy b**ch!”

Keen to ask for some very much needed context, the hosts asked why he was out of touch with his parents for six months.

Callum explained: “I was just busy with life and work and then I was like wait - I haven't heard from my parents in a while, I wonder what's going on?

“And I gave them a call up, and my mum and dad were like 'you're alive?'

“My mum was absolutely in tears and my dad was just kind of gobsmacked - he was just like 'what the f**k is going on?'”

They then quizzed him on why his parents just took this news as gospel, without any questions asked.

He responded: “They were kinda like running around calling our other family seeing if they had heard anything, from what I was told.

“Then they didn't really know anything to go off so my parents just kind of presumed 'yeah he died’.”

But the wickedness continued to unfold, as Callum revealed that his sister actually told her parents he had been stabbed to death.

Vaughan added: "Wait wait wait, you were murdered?

"You're not dead in an accident by your own hand, someone murdered you!

“This is the wildest phone call we've ever had.”

It’s needless to say that the parents and his sister aren’t exactly on talking-terms anymore…and can you blame them?
