LeBron James Says He Will Play His Final NBA Season With His Son

The basketball great said he'll do 'whatever it takes' to make it happen

LeBron James may be one of the greatest basketball players of all time, but after next season, he'll be a free agent.

So, what's next for the 37-year-old Lakers star?

Well, he's not sure himself - but what he does know is that he wants to end his career playing alongside his son, Bronny.

The 17-year-old is currently playing high school basketball, but NBA teams might be eager to draft him if his dad is part of the package.

Speaking to The Athletic, James said: "My last year will be played with my son.

"Wherever Bronny is at, that's where I’ll be. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year. It's not about the money at that point."

It seems then that the way in which they both age over the coming years will determine which club and at what level they play alongside each other.

Beyond that, once James eventually steps away from the court, perhaps we'll see more of him on the big screen.

He recently starred in Space Jam: A New Legacy - although the sequel wasn't exactly well received, and has a rating of just 25 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

In fact, James even ended up getting burned by the creator of Squid Game, after he criticised the show's ending.

The South Korean survival series took the world by storm after it was released on Netflix in September, but James wasn't impressed by the finale.

Discussing the show with Los Angeles Lakers teammate Anthony Davis following a press conference in October, he said: "I didn't like the ending though.

"I know they start it off with a season two but, like, get on the f***ing flight and go see your daughter, bro. Like what are you doing?"

But the hit's creator Hwang Dong-hyuk was unphased by the criticism.

Speaking to The Guardian, he said: "Have you seen Space Jam 2?

"LeBron James is cool and can say what he wants. I respect that. I'm very thankful he watched the whole series.

"But I wouldn't change my ending. That's my ending.

"If he has his own ending that would satisfy him, maybe he could make his own sequel. I'll check it out and maybe send him a message saying, 'I liked your whole show, except the ending'."
