A staff member has been locked inside an escape room building and told to work out how to get themselves free.
One particularly devious prankster decided to take matters into his own hands while visiting the Amazing Escape Room in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania.
In a now-viral video, the young man quickly runs out of the building and ties a wire around the door handles so people inside can't get out.

Before fleeing the area, the man slips a laminated sheet through the doors, which looks to be instructions.
General manager Nathaniel Witschi, 22, is then seen banging on the door, pleading with the man to let him out.
However, the prankster then takes off running.

Some were left rather amused by this clip, as one person wrote: “I sincerely hope this wasn’t staged, this is too funny.”
Another said: “They should hire this guy.”
While another said: “The riddler strikes again.”
However, others slammed the prankster.

One user wrote: "This is so dumb. What about an emergency happened and he couldn't get out,”
Another said: "I know it’s a joke but there’s nothing worse than wanting to go home from work and not being able to.”
Thankfully, no damage was caused, and no action was taken.
A spokesperson for the Amazing Escape Room said they knew the assailant, and he had tried pranks like this before.

"Our employee was locked out of the escape room and was trying to get in, the footage captured was from our security videos,” they added.
However, this isn’t the first time an escape room has gotten a little too real.
Last year, Rina Runenko was working at an immersive experience in Tambov, Russia, when she attempted to scare a family trying to find a way out of the room.

But things went south quickly.
As Rina went to spook the family, a man, not realising she was a staff member, jumped out of his skin and instinctively punched her, immediately taking her down.
In CCTV footage, Rina can be seen charging into the escape room before the incident occurs.
According to local reports, Rina suffered a bruised shoulder, hand, elbow and thigh due to the violent incident.
After the altercation, Rina said: "My boyfriend ran in. He said, 'What are you doing?' And the man who hit me replied, 'I didn’t do anything'.
"They showed him [the footage that was caught] on the cameras, he understood that there was no denying it and said, 'I did it so that the children would not be frightened'."
An investigation was launched, but Rina had asked for her attacker not to be prosecuted.
Yikes, maybe next time we can send her out in knee and body pads.
