Women agree on one 'green flag' they are looking for when dating a man

Do you have this green flag?

The 'girls of Reddit' have agreed on the one 'green flag' they want all men to have.

As a dude, it's often hard to know what women really look for. After all, everyone is different and not all of us want the same things.

Taking to Reddit, one man who wants to be more self-aware has asked women on the platform what qualities - or 'green flags', as they're now known - they look for in their men.

"Initially I was asking the opposite question (how to find a girl with green flags)," he began.

"But I feel like I should probably take a good hard look inward, and be a green flag myself before I can attract a girl like that.

"There's plenty I can improve. Hardest thing I am dealing with is a low-self esteem and being a bit more negative than before (a toxic relationship kind of got me there).

"So woman of Reddit, what are some green flags that you personally look for in a guy? I am very curious! Have you found a guy like that? What are you struggling with?"

The top comment and reply, which most women seemed to agree with, was a guy who doesn't take himself too seriously.

"A guy that can laugh at his own mistakes," the top comment read.

"One that doesn’t have to be the smartest in the room. A man who listens instead of waiting for his turn to talk."

Many were in agreement, as one person added: "Love the listens vs waiting his turn to talk."

"I call it 'talking with vs talking at'," a second penned, as a third wrote: "It's called active listening."

Someone else's green flag was, simply, a request for tidiness.

"They keep their living spaces nice (means I won't be dealing with all future housework alone)," the Redditor commented, adding: "They listen to listen and not to just respond (easy to resolve things with those kinds of people usually), they can do things alone and not expect me to tag along to things I'm not in to just so they can have company (less risk of codependency).

"I want signs I won't be a surrogate mother and can have healthy conversations with them."

"The listening thing is the most important to me and my partners have that in spades," one person replied, as another agreed: "I hear you. A great listener is the ultimate luxury these days."

Of course, green flags vary depending on the person and what they look for in a partner, but it's certainly helpful to know the most common ones!
