A TV series about Eminem's life based off his biopic movie 8 Mile is in the works, at least according to 50 Cent who will be helping to produce the show.
It's over 20 years now since 8 Mile first released to strong reviews and a big haul at the box office, with Eminem picking up an Oscar for Best Original Song with 'Lose Yourself', as well as earning some awards for his performance.
Speaking of that Oscar win, Eminem didn't even attend the Academy Awards as he thought a rap song had no chance of winning and slept through the whole ceremony.

Now it sounds like a new TV series is going to adapt the movie onto the small screen, as 50 Cent outright said events were 'in motion' to make an 8 Mile series.
Speaking on REAL 92.3 FM’s radio show Big Boy’s Neighborhood, 50 Cent was talking about the slate of TV series he'd helped make when he announced he was planning to make a series about Eminem.
He said: "I wanna bring, I'm gonna bring 8 Mile to television.

"We in motion. It's gonna be big. I'm working. I ain't got no duds. I think it should be there for [Eminem's] legacy because it's important to me that they understand it."
50 Cent and Eminem are really close friends, with the famous rappers having praised each other plenty over the years.
Last year, 50 Cent said he doesn't believe his fellow rapper got enough credit for the contribution he made to hip hop, calling him a 'real hip hop guy'.
In turn, Eminem reportedly refused to perform at the Superbowl if he couldn't bring 50 Cent along with him, with Jay-Z claiming the rapper said he 'can't do it if I can't bring 50 with me'.

The original 8 Mile movie released in 2002 and is currently available to stream on Netflix for those who haven't seen it yet.
It follows the story of aspiring rapper Jimmy 'B-Rabbit' Smith Jr (Eminem) who lives in a trailer park and dreams of making it big, loosely following the real life story of Slim Shady himself.
Not everybody reckons it would be a good idea to revisit 8 Mile, with actor Mekhi Phifer recently saying it might be 'best just to leave it alone' as he believed since they'd made a 'classic', there was 'no reason to fool around' with it.

He also said if there was some sort of reboot or remake of 8 Mile then he wouldn't be in it and 'I'm sure Eminem wouldn't be in it either'.
