Harry Styles' mother has paid tribute to the late Liam Payne, who was part of One Direction with her son in the early 2010s.
On Wednesday night (16 October), authorities in Buenos Aires, Argentina, said in a statement that Liam Payne, 31, had been pronounced dead following a fall from a third floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in the country's capital.
Fans gathered outside the hotel in the hours after to pay tribute to the former One Direction star, who was reportedly in the Argentinian city to see former bandmate Niall Horan perform a few days prior.
A statement from local police revealed that they had been called to the hotel after reports of an 'aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol'.

He explained: "The alarm was raised at 5.04pm local time saying a person was lying in an internal patio at Casa Sur. At 5.11pm an ambulance arrived and the man was certified dead.
"Afterwards we found out he had been a famous singer. Unfortunately the injuries he had suffered as a result of the fall proved to be fatal. There was no possibility of resuscitating him."
