James Acaster told his fans the devastating way he found out his girlfriend had ‘left him for Mr Bean’.
The comedian is well-known for his stand-up as well as co-hosting the Off Menu podcast with Ed Gamble, appearing on Taskmaster, oh and among everything else, who could forget that ‘bon appétit’ moment on The Great British Bake Off.
The 38-year-old is currently going viral for his take on comedy about trans people as Ricky Gervais’ Netflix special is slammed.

Acaster criticised comedians for using the trans community for comedy.
He added that in 2019 when he was performing the gig, people were 'more than happy to laugh at transgender people' but he'd discovered they were 'not as comfortable laughing at Ricky Gervais yet'.
Also during 2019, the Off Menu host told audiences about his girlfriend leaving him.
Acaster was previously dating British actor and comedian Louise Ford, 42, who is known for the likes of Horrible Histories, Crashing and The Windsors.

Acaster revealed how he found out what had happened during his stand-up act: “I got left for Mr Bean.

"No one else in the history of time has ever been left for Mr Bean."

He continued more about the bizarre situation: “I'm a goddam saint to have kept this in the back pocket so long.
"It's my job to say things that are funny and the funniest thing that's ever happened to anyone, happened to me and I put it on the back-burner out of respect.
"Until you get left for Mr Bean, you don't realise how frequently he pops up.

"There's a shop two streets from my house that sells masks of his face.
"There's nowhere where I'm going to go that he's not there."
Acaster went on to date comedian and Starstruck star Rose Matafeo in 2015, who moved from New Zealand to be with him.
They split in 2017, but nevertheless, it seems Mr Bean is well out of the picture.
