Jenna Ortega has responded to the rumours she was in a ‘serious relationship’ with Johnny Depp.
Yeah, apparently people really believed the 21-year-old actor was dating the 61-year-old.
It all kicked off last year when the pair were supposedly spotted together and rumours began that he was involved in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
Ortega stars in the upcoming sequel to the 1988 classic, which will see Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara return to their iconic roles.

There are rumours of Depp making a cameo in the Tim Burton film too but let’s be honest, it’s not exactly needed.
The Wednesday star spoke out last year when speculation began, slamming the dating rumours as ‘ridiculous’.
“I have never met or worked with Johnny Depp in my life. Please stop spreading lies and leave us alone,” Ortega said.
And during promo for Beetlejuice 2, the actor was asked about the ‘craziest rumour’ she’s heard about herself. And rather unsurprisingly, she explained it had to be that she was dating the Pirates of the Caribbean actor.

“Probably that I was in a serious relationship with Johnny Depp, and I wanted everybody to leave us alone,” Ortega explained in a chat with Buzzfeed.
“It’s so insane to me. Like, I never spoke on that. I never said anything like that. Articles really do just make up their own quotes, but I thought that that was pretty hilarious.”
She even went on to explain that one of her cast mates actually believed she might be dating Depp.

“I was on set with Richard E. Grant, and he came up to me and he just said, ‘Oh, so you and Johnny?’ And I laughed because I… I don’t know that person,” she recalled.
Instead, she did go on to explain some childhood crushes on Barack Obama and the entire cartoon cast of The Fox and the Hound.
And honestly? Fair enough.

When the rumours kicked off about Ortega dating Depp last year, a statement from Depp’s representative read: "Mr. Depp has no personal or professional relationship with Ms. Ortega whatsoever. He has never met her or spoken to her."
It continued: "He is not involved in any project with her, nor does he intend to be. He is appalled by these baseless and malicious rumours that are intended to harm his reputation and career."
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice lands in cinemas on 6 September.
