Lucy Beaumont spoke about her ‘agreement’ with Jon Richardson following their divorce, as she admitted it may seem ‘weird’ for some.
The comedians announced their split last April, following nine years of marriage. Sharing a daughter together, the stars said at the time that they had ‘jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways’.
Richardson and Beaumont have since remained tight-lipped on their separation as they continue to pursue their individual TV and comedy careers.

She later revealed she sometimes feels ‘guilty’ over having their private and family life opened up to some extent, but it’s something the pair have clear boundaries over.
In interviews that followed their divorce announcement, discussing their relationship and split has largely been a no-go area.
This is down to the agreement they made, as Beaumont acknowledged to OK! Magazine that it might seem odd to their fans.

“People might think I should talk about it because we were so public and everyone knew us as a couple, but I won’t, and not because there’s any animosity,” the Taskmaster star said.

“We both agreed that while it might be weird for other people not hearing anything about it, we wouldn’t talk about anything to do with the marriage or each other.”
This came in light of fans often thinking their show, Meet the Richardsons, gave an insight to the real life of the couple.
The pair had starred alongside each other in the comedy series since 2020 with five series and 45 episodes. But of course, their TV house wasn’t their real house, and they used an actor rather than their real daughter.
“Because we’re playing ourselves, I do think people come up to us more in public and assume they know us. Definitely,” Beaumont once said.

The fifth and final series of Meet the Richardsons premiered the same month the stars announced they were divorcing last year.
Beaumont spent the latter half of 2024 touring with her stand-up show, as she told OK! her dream is to go on to create a sitcom.
“I hope to tread the boards in theatre, which was my background before comedy,” she added. “And although I never really made any money from it, it’s the things you do while chasing the things you want that end up moulding you, and for me that was teaching. I’m sure I’ll do that again one day too.”
And yesterday (1 April), Richardson announced his latest career move, as he’s set to star in Waterloo Road.
