Lucy Beaumont joked about divorcing Jon Richardson during a TV show in 2023, months before their shock split.
The 40-year-old actress spoke about their relationship in passing, during an episode of Channel 4 show Eight Out Of Ten Cats Does Countdown.

The British comedians announced yesterday (12 April) that they would be divorcing after nine years of marriage, having tied the knot in April 2015.

Their only child, a daughter, was born in 2016.
Richardson and Beaumont told the PA news agency: "After nine years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated. We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.
"As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy is respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being. We will be making no further comment."
Best known for starring in their own TV mockumentary series on Dave's UKTV, Meet the Richardsons, the series recently began airing its fifth series.

The show has been so well received, that Beaumont was nominated for a BAFTA TV award in 2023.
But it turns out that we should have seen the split coming amidst all the success the pair enjoyed, if the jokes that Beaumont made a year ago are anything to go by.
The episode of Eight Out Of Ten Cats Does Countdown in question was hosted by comedian Jimmy Carr, who introduced team captain Jon to the viewers and his team, which also included Lucy.

Carr quipped: "Lucy and Jon are married.
"So I know Lucy, everyone watching at home is dying to know... What made you decide to settle?"
Beaumont then joked: "I don't see this for life."
"Isn't it a song - just passing through? Is it?"

Carr continued to stir the pot: "Just passing through?"
She continued: "You meet in your life old souls, new souls... A***holes."
Beaumont then went on to say that the two 'had a lovely life together', also joking that she had never eaten an avocado before meeting her husband at the time.

She then said: "Who knows what will happen in the future."
Jon asked: "Are you breaking up now?"
It turns out that Jon should have been a bit more aware of what was to come, with the couple now officially separated.
The couple were originally set up by comedian Roisin Conaty, with Richardson previously explaining: "Roisin Conaty set us up and for months I said 'if you like this girl don't get us involved because I'll ruin her f**king life'."
He also later explained why he wasn't fully up for the idea: "I was very depressed and I thought, why drag someone else down with me."
He even cheekily admitted that he saved her on his phone as 'My Wife' before they met, but after they agreed to a date.
