**Warning: This article contains details of alleged sexual assault and rape**
Katherine Ryan says she won't comment on the sexual assault allegations that were brought against fellow comedian Russell Brand.
Last week, The Times, The Sunday Times, and Channel 4’s Dispatches revealed sexual assault and rape allegations brought against Russell Brand by four different women. The incidents are said to have taken place between the years of 2006 and 2013.

However, prior to the investigation going live, the Get Him to the Greek actor posted a video on his now-demonetised YouTube channel to deny all allegations.
Brand, 48, also claimed that his past relationships have always been consensual and that he believed the allegations were a ‘co-ordinated’ attack against him.
Following the news, Ryan, 40, has stated that she will ‘not be participating' in any discussion referring to the comedian.

On a recent episode of her Katherine Ryan: Telling Everybody Everything podcast, titled ‘Rainy Day’, she discussed the situation.
She told her listeners: “This is all you're going to get from my podcast, it is a very underproduced string of consciousness about what myself, my husband and I have been doing throughout the week.
"If you came here for anything else, I should put you out of your misery now and let you know that I have nothing else to say about anything… apart from, I guess, passing observation.

“When a woman says ‘no, I don’t want to engage in that conversation and I have no comment on that story, no I won’t be confirming or denying or participating about anything in the news right now’, her consent is not valid.
She went on to question: “Why is my consent totally unimportant when we are speaking a lot in the press right now - speaking about the importance of consent?”
“No is a full sentence, ladies and gentlemen - no!”
Concluding with her final say on the situation, Ryan said: “It’s a lovely day in London and when we return, I will open your emails and we’ll see your comments on last week’s podcast.”

It should be noted that, at no point during the 39-minute recording, did the award-winning comedian reference Brand’s name nor the allegations made against him.
The pair have previously worked together on a single series of Comedy Central’s Roast Battle.
The Duchess star has also previously told BBC documentary maker, Louis Theroux, that she once confronted an unnamed male comedian, whose behaviour she said was an 'open secret' within the industry.

At the time, Ryan claimed that it was ‘not her story to tell’ and did not go on to name the person.
She then went on to say that she wouldn't be discussing the situation ever again and told journalists not to ask her about it.
