Mickey Rourke issues apology after being forced to leave CBB house following ‘unacceptable behaviour’

He agreed to exit after using 'threatening and aggressive language' during last night's episode

Mickey Rourke has issued an apology after he was forced to leave the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Over the weekend, the 72-year-old agreed to exit the series following ‘further use of inappropriate language and unacceptable behaviour’. Rourke lasted less than a week in the house but made a string of offensive comments and frequently left viewers disgraced.

And after receiving a formal warning from Big Brother for making homophobic remarks towards JoJo Siwa, it was a ‘disagreement’ with Chris Hughes that saw him leave Celebrity Big Brother in last night’s (13 April) episode.

The Hollywood actor has easily proved to be this year’s most controversial contestant and has said he’s ‘very sorry’ for losing his temper.

He also added that he was ‘not aware’ of any ‘inappropriate sexual language’ he may have used.

While the housemates dressed up as pirates for a shopping task, Rourke took problem with the way Hughes looked at him and things escalated as he used ‘threatening and aggressive’ language.

The Sin City actor was then called to the Diary Room where Big Brother told him: “Mickey, Big Brother needs to speak to you about your behaviour. Earlier today in a disagreement with Chris, your language and behaviour was threatening and aggressive. Big Brother does not tolerate threatening language or behaviour. In addition, you have used inappropriate sexual language to Ella.”

Rourke said: “Oh I’m not aware of that but okay.”

And Big Brother continued: “This language has caused offence to your fellow housemates and could cause offence to the viewing public. This is not the first time Big Brother has had to speak to you about your offensive and inappropriate language."

The star then began to apologise: “Yes sir. I did wrong. I apologise. I’m sorry. I can’t take it back, you know, I stepped over the line. And I take responsibility for doing the wrong thing. ‘Cause I lost my temper, and I’ve been trying to work on it my whole life and I wish I would have had better self-control and I’m very sorry.”

Rourke admitted he was ‘ashamed’ of himself ‘for losing it for a few seconds’ as he added that 'nobody got hurt'.

“Maybe some feelings got hurt or maybe others have feelings about others getting upset but, you know, I’m sorry about that," he said.

As the voice went on: “Big Brother considers your language and behaviour today to be seriously unacceptable and as a result Big Brother has no option but to ask you to leave the Big Brother house. Mickey, is there anything else you’d like to say?"

The housemate then continued his apology as he ultimately agreed to the request to leave the house.

“I blame myself, I know it was my bad. You know, I’ve got a short fuse and I know I upset a lot of people out there, you know. And I’m sorry for that. I’m actually ashamed of myself for getting that hot. I went over the line, you know, I did wrong. I guess, like they say, I’m a work in progress,” Rourke said.

“I just wanna pack my bags and leave, you know. I wanted to leave yesterday actually but I wasn’t chosen [in the public elimination]."

Big Brother continues tonight on ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm.
