Paris Hilton is still one of the most recognisable people in the world twenty years on from her initial rise to fame.
Hilton gained popularity for being part of the 2000s LA socialite scene, along with the Kardashians - in fact, Kim was her assistant at one point.
The 44-year-old businesswoman made a name for herself in reality TV series The Simple Life alongside Nicole Richie, where the heiresses learn to live with a 'normal' family after an ultra-privileged up-bringing.

She soon gained celebrity status, and was known for her industry-leading fashion trends, high-pitched voice, and numerous catchphrases which defined the early noughties.
However, she proved over the years that she's actually quite a shrewd businessperson, revealing that she had created her 'dumb blonde' image to help with her career.

Nowadays, she is showing a far more honest side to her, as seen in the 2020 YouTube documentary titled I Am Paris, where a lot of fans saw that she had been 'playing a character'.

Fans still can't get over the revelation though, as every last detail, down to her voice, was manufactured by the star.
In a 2023 appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast hosted by Alex Cooper, she clarified something about her actual voice.
Cooper asked: "The two different voices you will use interchangeably, there's the high pitched (voice) and then there's the more chill voice - how do you decided when to do which voice?"
Hilton revealed: "It's something that I've been doing for so long that I can't even control it, when I get shy the voice will go up higher and then when I'm just like feeling a little bit more relaxed it's lower.

"But sometimes I have to tell myself, 'Paris just talk in your normal voice', but I just I don't know what it is - I think just from so many years of doing it has just become a part of me."
She obviously answered in her real voice, which is deeper than the one that she puts on, which makes the star sound a lot more formal and less like the childish, spoilt character that she created in the 2000s.
But still, years later, fans can't believe that they didn't notice it for so long.

Taking to the comments of the podcast clip, one user wrote: "I love her real voice!! I could listen to it all day."
Another added: "Damn she seems so normal now. This Paris is way better than 2000s Paris."
Meanwhile, a third said: "Whoaaaaa. I’ve neverrrrr heard her use this voice before."
During the promotion of her documentary, Paris told 7News that the world 'never really knew who I am', adding: "The real me is someone who is actually brilliant.
