Pete Davidson issues warning to people after ‘horrible’ experience burning off almost all his tattoos

Pete Davidson issues warning to people after ‘horrible’ experience burning off almost all his tattoos

Pete Davidson said he previously had about 200 tattoos

Pete Davidson has revealed the ‘horrible’ experience of removing his tattoos and warned others about it too.

The comic, who previously opened up and why he decided to remove his tattoos, which reportedly cost him thousands of dollars.

The Saturday Night Live alum is no stranger to the ink, considering his body has been used as an art canvas to his range of tats, including two that were given in honour of his brief relationship with ex-girlfriend, Kim Kardashian.

But he is now cleaning his slate.

Having been thrown into the spotlight during his many high-profile relationships with a number of extremely successful and good-looking women, Davidson has been closely watched by all for some time.

Davidson's tattoos may have even contributed to his appeal, but it just wasn’t what he wanted to look like anymore.

A source close to the 31-year-old comedian told People: “He just woke up one day and wanted them gone, and it’s been a years-long process.”

However, his body transformation is proving to be a challenge.

The sources went on to reveal the whopping amount of money he allegedly spent to remove his tattoos - approximately $200,000 (£161,300).

Even though he has been getting them removed for a couple of years, there’s a major downside.

It’s terribly painful.

When appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he was asked by said host about getting his tattoos removed.

He replied: “It’s horrible.”

The comic shared that: “Oh, it’s worse [than getting them].

“Well, they’ve got to burn off a layer of your skin. And then, it has to heal for like six to eight weeks, and you can’t get in the sunlight.”

But that’s not all.

In fact, the experience is pretty crappy, which isn’t great for any of us who have a tat we regret and want to get rid of.

The actor said: “You’ve got to do it like 12 more times.”

So, it’s a rinse and repeat type of process, to ensure that the ink is fully removed and the top layer of skin is gone for good.

Ouch.

When the audience gasped at his description, he then turned to them and warned: “Yeah, so really think about that Game of Thrones tattoo you’ve been thinking about getting.”

He was then shown a photo of himself wearing a wife beater and his tattoos on his arms shown and asked to guess how many he’d had on his body at that point.

Shockingly, he said it was probably ‘like 200’ tattoos and claimed he was ‘a sad boy’.

He’d accumulated so many as he would just think of something he wanted to get and would book his session, calling it a ‘weird time’.

He said: “Everybody was getting tattoos, like five years ago. Do you remember that?”

Davidson said that while he might keep ‘two or three’, he’s ‘trying to be an adult’ and ‘clean slate it’ by getting rid of almost all of them.
