Despite his skin once being daubed in hundreds of inkings, Pete Davidson's body is now a blank canvas once again.
The funnyman, 31, flaunted his tattoo-less look in a new Valentine’s Day campaign this week, five years after he first floated the idea of removing them.
Over the years, he had adorned pretty much every inch of his body with all sorts of artwork - including tributes to a string of his famous former flames.

Some people reckon it's bad luck to etch your better half's name on your skin, while others believe it's just downright daft.
But there are also the hopeless romantics out there, who see it as a grand gesture which symbolises your commitment to your significant other.
Whatever you think about getting a tattoo in dedication to somebody, Davidson's long and painful journey to remove his might make you think twice about it in the future.

I bet he's been kicking himself for being such a certified lover boy during each of the 'horrible' sessions he has spent removing them.
His go-to tattoo artist Jon Mesa previously revealed that he had warned Davidson to 'stop with the girlfriend tats' until he'd put a ring on it.
"Because relationships come and go, and Pete is a really young man," Mesa told Page Six in 2018. "I think that went in one ear and out the other."
The tattoo artist was bang on the money - so, let's have a look at some of the most notable inkings that the comedian has had in honour of his celebrity exes throughout his life.
Cazzie David
Back in 2016, Davidson began dating scriptwriter Cazzie David, the daughter of Seinfeld co-creator and Curb Your Enthusiasm star, Larry David.

To show his love for her, the Saturday Night Live star inked her name in italics across his ring finger, her favourite emoji, and a cartoon sketch of her on his arm.
After two years together, they parted ways, and Umbrella Academy actress David, 30, later revealed that her ex-boyfriend had covered them all up after they split.
Davidson concealed her name with black ink, replaced the emoji with a cloud - in a tribute to his next girlfriend, Ariana Grande - and covered up his arm tattoo with a moody forest scene.

Ariana Grande
Davidson didn't hang about when it came to his relationship with Ariana Grande - as he covered himself in inkings dedicated to her and popped the question in the space of just five months.

He got a tattoo of blacked out bunny ears below his left ear in reference to her Dangerous Woman album cover, as well as the words 'mille tendresse' on the back of his neck.
Grande, 31, also got the French phrase - which means 'a thousand tendernesses' and is spoken by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s - inked on her too.
Davidson also had 'Grande' on his ribs, her initials 'AG' on his thumb, as well as the pop star's catchphrase 'H2GKMO' on his finger, and 'reborn' on his other thumb to match the singer.
Ultimately, they weren't meant to be, and the Meet Cute actor covered up the bunny ears with a black heart, while obscuring his poignant neck inking with the word 'CURSED' instead.

Kim Kardashian
As well as getting a host of verbal abuse from Kanye West, Davidson got a string of inkings in homage of Kim Kardashian, 44, during their nine-month relationship.
The unlikely pair got together after meeting in October 2021 and it didn't take the comedian long to start declaring his love for the reality star through his body art.
He even went as far as to get her name, 'Kim' branded on his chest with a hot iron as he 'wanted it as a scar' which he 'wouldn't be able to get rid of'.
Davidson also had 'my girl is a lawyer' on his collar bone in tribute to the aspiring legal eagle, while Kardashian previously said he has 'a few cute ones' which she didn't reveal the contents of.
According to reports, Davidson was photographed with the initials 'KNSCP' on his neck, which fans speculated was in reference to Kardashian's four kids. I bet West really liked that one, eh?

Removal process
If you're not a fan of Davidson's style of tattoos, the good news is, they are now apparently gone for good.
Earlier this month, the New Yorker revealed that he was going through the 'horrible' tattoo removal process to rid his skin of nearly 200 inkings, which he said is a lot 'worse' than getting them done in the first place.
Speaking on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he said: "They’ve got to burn off a layer of your skin. And then, it has to heal for like six to eight weeks, and you can’t get in the sunlight.
"And then you gotta do it like 12 more times. So really think about that Game of Thrones tattoo. I'm trying to clean slate it, trying to be an adult."

Davidson's dramatic new look
According to sources close to Davidson, The King of Staten Island star 'just woke up one day and wanted them gone'.
He started lasering them off in late 2020 - even though he went on to add a few more - saying back then that he intended to have the majority of them gone by the time he turned 30.
Albeit a year late, he's finally got there after spending countless hours having the ink removed from his skin, which has reportedly cost him a whopping $200,000 (£161,300).
Davidson debuted his incredible new look in a Valentine's Day ad for clothing brand Reformation.

Other notable tattoos
As well as using his skin as a diary for his unsuccessful romances, Davidson had plenty of other tattoos too.
Some were pretty random - such as an inking of Winnie the Pooh and a white unicorn - while others had some touching meanings behind them.
In honour of his late father who died during the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the comedian had the firefighter's badge number '8418' on his arm.
He also had an 11 on the backside of his left ear, as well as a firefighter tattoo on his bicep.

Davidson also had an intricate tattoo of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, which connects Brooklyn to his native Staten Island, on his chest next to the Wu-Tang Clan logo.
He also had an Albus Dumbledore quote below his dad's badge number, which read: "Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light."
Similarly, the funnyman had a Rocky quote on his back which read: "It’s not about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward."
In terms of wacky ones, Davidson had the phrase 'jokes come and go, but swag is forever' on his skin, which he later covered with a shark.
Animals including a leopard, a crab, and a pig named 'Piggie Smalls' also featured on his body.
But arguably the most bizarre inking Davidson had was a portrait of US politician Hillary Clinton on his leg - and an inking of the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on his right shoulder.
